Inspiration for religious and non-religious court reporter students and court reporters.

Ten years ago Mr. Joe Roy wrote a fantastic description of the court reporting profession. Mr. Roy's writing has been adapted to suit and please both religious and non-religious court reporting students and court reporters.

There is a religious version of Mr. Roy's writing about court reporters and a non-religious version of Mr. Roy's writing so that all in the court reporting profession can enjoy Mr. Roy's writing about the court reporting profession.

The non-religious version of Mr. Roy's writing uses the word "blessed" which is a general word that can apply to non-religious things.

The non-religious version of Mr. Roy's writing is titled "Court Reporter Tribute" and is as follows:

Court Reporter Tribute

Blessed be the hands
 and the skills of
 those who record
 with accuracy the facts
 of the spoken word.

They assure that honor
 and justice prevail,
 performing their duties
 with a devotion
 that never fails.

What greater mission
 on earth than to engage
 in a duty to record
 the word of truth
 on history's every page?

The religious version of Mr. Roy's writing is entitled "Court Reporter's Blessing" and reads as follows:

Court Reporter’s Blessing

Bless the hands
 and the skills of
 those who record
 with accuracy the facts
 of the spoken word.

They assure that honor
 and justice prevail,
 performing their duties
 with a devotion
 that never fails.

What greater mission
 on earth than to engage
 in a duty to record
 the word of truth
 on history's every page?

Note: For the non-religious version of Mr. Roy's writing, keep in mind the definition of the word "blessed" as in "bringing pleasure, contentment, or good fortune ·a blessed event."

It is hoped all court reporter students and court reporters can copy the above Court Reporter Tribute or Court Reporter Blessing and keep it and display it and enjoy it.
