Greta - are you not interested in the version 5 EZ receivers? I have 3. I just want to buy red receivers since I don't have any. I'm selling them for $50 each.

Did you go into your device manager and make sure the universal serial bus controllers/USB Root Hubs are not set to shut down to save power? Make sure that box is UNchecked for each USB Root Hub. The RED has been working flawlessly for me, and I LOVE it. It's so fast and simple to set up, even with a brand-new 'puter.

All you have to do is send in the receivers and Stenocast will reprogram them to work with your specific transmitter. They have the codes for your transmitter so you don't have to send the transmitter in, just the receivers. So you can buy receivers from other people and send them in to be reprogrammed.

I have used the red and blue with XP (on my computer sending) and Windows 7 on the receiving without problems for some long time. The receivers are matched to the sending signal of the transmitter so can't be interchanged between sets to my understanding.

I had a similar problem with the Stenocast blue receivers, both version 5 and 6, with Windows 7 using Bridge. Had NEVER had problems with Stenocast whatsoever before 7. It would receive the feed just fine, and then it would flash an error message so fast you couldn't read it and then just automatically reboot the viewing computer. I called Stenocast and they told me it was a problem with Bridge or Windows. I called ASI and they told me it was a problem with Stenocast or Windows, but…

I called Stenocast and they told me it was a problem with Bridge or Windows. I called ASI and they told me it was a problem with Stenocast or Windows, but sounded like a driver issue. Reloaded the drivers and got the same problem. Ended up buying another computer in the evening so I could take it to the job the next day. Was doing a week-long arbitration with 4 viewing computers, and the computer the arbitrator was viewing was the one that kept rebooting. Never did get an answer from Stenocast as to why I had that problem. Same receivers have worked with the Windows 7 starter editions I have on my netbooks. I haven't tried a full Windows 7 version since.
I had problems with the RED a…tag:csrnation.ning.com,2013-02-08:1736041:Comment:12594852013-02-08T03:53:58.684ZKelli Combs (admin)http://csrnation.ning.com/profile/Kellicombsadmin

I had problems with the RED and the first Stenocast device using Windows XP. Stenocast told me it was a Eclipse problem. Actually, they are just good at pointing the finger at someone else instead of finding out what the answer actually is. I finally found out what the problem was when I upgraded to Windows 7. I haven't had a problem since, so it must have been an operating system problem and not an Eclipse problem, as Stenocast suggested.

Whenever I would use Stenocast with Windows XP, it would lock up my computer I was actually writing to. Very frustrating. Never knew when it would happen. Could be in the morning or at 6:00 p.m. at night. Very strange. Now it works great. I think Stenocast should have figured this out themselves insted of my 20 emails/phone calls wanting an answer when I'm paying for support. I never got an answer, BTW.
My experience with the EZ Sen…tag:csrnation.ning.com,2013-02-08:1736041:Comment:12596462013-02-08T02:51:47.077ZGreta Duckett, CCR, RPR, CRRhttp://csrnation.ning.com/profile/GretaDuckett

My experience with the EZ Send is that it would stop sending in either protocol.

I didn't find the depoman post. I would like her contact info. I found a unit at JM Steno, but I know several people who would love to have it!

I have a RED and use Eclipse with the Bridge protocol. I've never had any problems, and the refresh works great. I think the EZ Send problems are using the Bridge protocol, but it works fine using the blue receivers at 2400. Unfortunately, that means no refresh.

Did you find the posting on Depoman I was talking about? I think they expire after some set time and are no longer on there. I can get you the reporter's contact info, though, if you're interested since she's someone I…

The EZ Send was a nightmare.

I do know one reporter on Eclipse who had the EZ Send, sent it back and got a RED, and then he had problems with the RED and Bridge protocol. It would stop sending. The caseview receivers were fine and did not fail. But now he doesn't have refresh.

Anyone else has that problem? Or does RED work flawlessly for you?

Hey Greta!

I would definitely recommend staying with the RED. I upgraded mine to the EZ Send and had nothing but problems. Had to go back to the RED, which has always worked great!!!
