<p>I took my first job under my own agency and don't you know, I ran into an unusual situation.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The defendant's attorney hired me. She has original a "sealed original."</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The plaintiff's attorney has now also requested a "sealed original." I explained to her that the defendant's attorney has already ordered one; however, she still wants one. I also mentioned that there would be an additional charge for it and she agreed.</p>

<p>I'm now in a quandry trying to figure out how much to charge for this second sealed original. Do I charge the same fee as the original, or do I charge half of the original fee, or do I just set a flat rate for this second sealed original?</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I appreciate your feedback on this!</p>

<p>Pitino Court Reporting, Inc.</p> CR TESTING & PHYSICAL EXERCISE IS THERE A CONNECTION TO EXCELLENCE?tag:csrnation.ning.com,2011-06-01:1736041:Topic:11532622011-06-01T04:03:06.489ZFaith Pitinohttp://csrnation.ning.com/profile/FaithPitino
<p>I am interested in starting a physical exercise program in coordination with people who are striving to pass certification testing, whether it be state certification, any of the NCRA programs, as a way to achieve excellence in writing skills by bringing out a sharpened focus that exercise provides.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Has anyone participated in such a training program in the past, presently, or is planning on this type of regimen to help pass certification exams? You can join this discussion…</p>

Hello, all! I just received a call requesting a quote for a State Board Hearing to be held on a Saturday and Sunday?!?!? I, frankly, have not billed for a hearing before, and to add the weekend per diem on top of it all, I'm struggling with what to charge? Without divulging, I guess, what "you" would charge, any recommendations for me?? I appreciate in advance any guidance you can give me! Thanks a bunch! Karen @ Empire Court Reporting :)

This is driving me crazy!!!!<br />
I'm a "small agency," have a handful of clients, and a few of my firms do workers' comp defense work. I have a great relationship with my clients. I love working with them, but recently I've not been able to see them as much because they "can't use me" on certain files because the insurance companies on certain files have these "preferred vendor lists." I'm getting nailed by this! It makes me sad. It makes my clients unhappy that they can't call me for their depos…

Does anybody know how to GET ON these secret little "vendor lists"?? It just seems like a huge task so I've never taken the time to deal with it. I am getting to the point I may have to find out how to do it though because my business is slowing and slowing because of this! If it is a rate issue, I'm sure my rates are competitive. Can anyone give me advice? Is it something that can be done, get on these lists, being the "small agency" that I am? Any advice is welcome!<br />
Or just a big hug is good too! :) Partnerships for Federal Worktag:csrnation.ning.com,2009-08-27:1736041:Topic:10720212009-08-27T16:38:25.415ZFaith Pitinohttp://csrnation.ning.com/profile/FaithPitino

I am interested to learn as much as you want to divulge about your business development practices. It's a challenging business environment we work in where we not only compete locally but we compete nationally, and sometimes globally. What works for you? Do you spend a lot on advertising? Do you rely on word-of-mouth? Do you focus on being technologically superior? Is cutting deals and reducing rates what works for you? Since I asked the question, I'll provide an answer to get the conversation…
