Hello, I just joined. I am not currently working in Federal Court. I contracted in Texas working for a magistrate judge. I was wondering to get hired on the court reporter panel, is realtime a requirement?

Hi Lisa,

No, you do not need to be a CA CSR. You do need to at least have your RPR and four years of experience. If you would like further info, feel free to e-mail me privately through my website at www.victoriavalinecsr.com, and I will answer any questions you have.

They've got lots of dailies and things. There's only 2 court reporters in Riverside. And there are six officials in Santa Ana, and two of them timeshare bec. the judge has a really crazy schedule. He'll start at 7 a.m. and go to 8 p.m.

Hy, Kyung. Our building in Cleveland is beautiful, too. It was built in 2002 and has a lot of nice, new bells and whistles. I feel lucky to have this great job in these uncertain times! Your courts must be very busy to have contract reporters.
We have been very slow this year in Cleveland.

I didn't realize this was a new group. For some reason, I thought I had already joined.

Anyway, I am a contract reporter for the Federal Courts out here in California aka Central District. I work in Santa Ana and Riverside. I have not worked in the Los Angeles Federal Court.

Santa Ana is my favorite bec. it is closest to me, and the building is absolutely beautiful.

Hi, I'm a Federal Official in Cleveland. It's always nice to chat with other Federal reporters. Although we're one big family, it's different from one district to another, and that's always interesting.
