So I was feeling rather poopy yesterday...I'm all caught up on depo transcripts and have no CART assignments on the horizon (and MAN I love to CART), and all throughout practice I was writing like butt. Don't know if I've hit a plateau in my writing, or if the cares of the world's just getting to me or what.

I watched the "Joy of Writing" video again, and it helped me to feel a little bit better.

I'm feeling better today, but what are some videos (Magnum Steno or otherwise, but especially Magnum Steno) that help you when you're feeling down?

And how about YOU, Mark? Who encourages the encourager?

Well, "The Secret" inpspired me to break through my 160 plateau. I know it seems a little New Age-ey, but nevertheless, it got me to adjust my thinking a bit. I passed 2 back-to-back 160 tests a couple of days after watching it. There's one motivational icon after another in that video!
I have to say that Mark's Speed Method Part 4 is probably one of the best videos out of all of them for me. I remember watching it for the first time and thinking knew me without even meeting. lol. That video kept me going:)

Also, Monica; I don't see that video anywhere. Where are you getting it from?
Erica,

As well as being a book, which Monica left you the link for, "The Secret" is also a movie. There are so many subliminal motivators in it that after a few times watching you realize that you can attain what you want once you get rid of that four-letter word, f-e-a-r.

It's also a book. Somebody gave it to me as a gift.

Think it's time to go back to Part 4 for a refresher course!
Hi Kathryn:
Could I ask you where you got your "Joy of Writing?" I would love to watch that one.
thanks

I always try to remember, God is in control. He didn't just create the world and then sit back and watch. He is active in our lives, cares for us, gives us our abilities, and has a purpose for our lives. If we get our priorities in proper order: Love God, love our neighbor (starting with our families), all the other things fall into place. I think we all get a little down now and then. Sometimes it could just be a chemical in our brain doing it. So we have to remember not to go by our feelings, but by Truth: which is, God loves me, I'm blessed, my blessings are so many I can't count them, so what is there to feel down about?? That helps me tremendously. I hope it might help you.
Mark, I love it!! That is exactly how I feel about the profession I chose!
God has given me this ability (or determination) to strive to be faster & more accurate. I happen to attend a small Baptist church that the majority of the congregation is elderly and I know there are more than a few folks who can't hear very well even with the sound system. My hope and desire is to provide the Sunday morning service so ALL may hear the wonderful word of God!
Back to practice!
Thanks so much. :o} It seems over the past three-ish years God has been working on us about "How much do you REEEEALLY trust that I'll provide?" (I need to tell the $20K story sometime. It's a long'un.)

Since we got back from Convention (which I felt guilty about, spending all the dough on the con when we could have, like, bought food and paid the house payment a couple times) times were financially rough for the ThomasZander household. Not much income at all. I was feeling PRET-ty dang low, and practicing trusting God and practicing not worrying.

Sort of like steno practice. If it ain't hard, it ain't doing you no good.

BUT now I got a couple healthy checks in, and we've caught up on some bills, and my husband's switched jobs, so hopefully we're out of the worst of it.
Mark, that is awesome and so true! God is the center and everything else is meaningless without Him!

BTW, I'm Casey, just joined. Nice to meet you.

Casey Grainger :-)
Yes, I agree! I watch Joel Osteen every Sunday! He is also a great motivator!
