I can't find Lisa on FB!  Lisa, get over there.  Just adjust your privacy stuff.  It's well worth it for a new Infinity user.

Hey Jenny, can you send Lisa an invite to the Infinity Users Group on Facebook.  I was telling her about it.  She's from here in Dallas but was up in Colorado working and went and saw Jason and the machine and ordered it.  She played around on mine at the Texas realtime test a few months ago.

I also had the Lightspeed and spent at least a hundred hours tweaking it until I got it right.  The Infinity Ergo I now have is wonderful!  Yes, the LS is light, but so is the Infinity Traditiona - and the Ergo is just a bit heavier, but feels so right!

Hope you like it.  I had one and could never get the machine to stay accurate.  I spent twice as much time editing as I had with even my Stentura which stacked horribly.  I loved it for the first year because of the portability, but soon grew to hate it because of its inaccuracies and "losing" stuff.

Oops, didn't realize I was so far back in time on the discussion when I commented about Brief It. I was replying to a September post - sorry.

Jeanese, you can go into Brief It and say you don't want it to "require" an asterisk. I just learned that at the STAR convention last weekend. Go to Tools, Options, brief it, options, steno include/exclude, then click on entry, go up to edit and click delete (or modify). Also, If you have words translating wrong because you hit one of Brief It's briefs, you can change the option to set it to click twice to define. then when you want to use one of their briefs, you hit the outline twice the first time to say you want to use it, then only once when it comes up again in depo. I hope that's clear. Let me know if it's not.

hope to get the Red before the end of the year. I have been using cables and really want to go wireless!

There was a seminar at the NCRA convention this year at the National Harbor where four different vendors of realtime products gave out info on each of their products...pros and cons. The audience of reporters, etc., found them all a bit "proprietary" and wished they would try working together towards common ground "getting out the record"...but don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. All about the Benjamins.

I use the wired serial port and usb cables from Stenograph...but I am on Case Catalyst. They can hook up to attorneys computers who are on LiveNote or Case View (Case Catalyst). Their newest version of Case View Net is wireless Internet where you have your own little router with your address...but it is Case Cat-specific. It's nice, though because it refreshes the steno output on the spot. I just haven't made the monetary plunge yet...maybe before the end of the year so I can get a tax writeoff!!!
