Hello everyone! I am finally on break from school! Wow two whole weeks, yippee! Oh yes, the reason I am making a comment here is that I have an opening if a reporter who uses DigitalCAT needs a scopist. Everyone have a great holiday season and STAY SAFE!!!!!

Hi, all. I have been working for the past 25 years in the legal field as a Legal Assistant in the area of employment law, personal injury, medical/dental malpractice. I had to leave my employment recently for medical reasons and have been working for the past two years for a court reporting firm in Fort Lauderdale as a transcriptionist of audio files for deposition, hearings and trials as well as a Scopist and transcriber for reporters using Express Scribe and Transcription Buddy. I am available for overnight work, express, rush service as well as regular transcription and scoping work. I can transcribe any files in WAV, DSS, DCT, AU, WMA or any other sound format.

I can send samples of work I have done upon request.

Also willing to learn scoping for any other system if someone is willing to take a few moments to set me up and teach me or tell me how to begin. I am always willing to learn new things and could become an asset to the right person.

I am currently a student, just passed my 100wpm point and I am looking to get into scoping. So, if you know of ANY place I can look for work, please, please contact me. Thanks!

Hi, everyone. I am in the Southern California area and have been an Eclipse scopist now for almost 5 years. I went to school to be a reporter for 2 years and scoped the last 6 months while still at school. I eventually left school due to pinched nerves when I was at about 150 wpm and began scoping on a full-time basis. Due to the slow holiday season, I am available for some extra work. I primarily work for 1 reporter, but have worked for others as well in the past. I also just received my CRI and am hoping to begin teaching at a school soon, should I find a school that has a position available.

Hi all,
I am a scopist, living in Maine, a member of NCRA and currently in CRID. I have been scoping for over 3 years and love it. Right now I have the full version of DigitalCAT and am able to convert other CAT software. If you are a reporter and need someone to scope for you, please consider me. I promise to do things YOUR way!.

Hi,

My name is Dianne Hudson and I live in Austin, Texas. Although I’m originally from Illinois, I’ve lived in Texas for the last 30+ years. I attended court reporting school in the 90’s, and worked as a scopist to support myself. I decided court reporting wasn’t for me, but continued working as a scopist for a while until I was offered a position as a legal secretary.

I’ll be retiring from that position soon, but I want to continue working. I enjoyed scoping so much that I decided to invest in the software and all the necessary tools to get started. I’ve taken a one-day class in Houston and have worked with a scoping instructor online to brush up on my skills. I use Morson’s, One Word, Two Words and Gregg Reference Manual for some of my research and, of course, the Internet. I also belong to a fabulous support group on Yahoo. If I have a question about something, I usually refer to that group, and most of the time I get an answer, or at least referred to a site that might have the answer for me.

For almost two years now, I’ve been working with several freelance reporters in Texas, Florida and California. Although they’ve been great to work with, and I’ve learned so much from them, the work is off and on. I would like to work with several reporters, either freelance or through the courts, on a more consistent basis. I would like approximately 100 to 300 pages per week. If you’re interested, please contact me by phone or email.

Equipment: High Speed Internet, Laser Printer, Scanner, Copier, Case Catalyst 4, Version 8, Audio Sync, a “Send This File” account for sending large files over the internet. I usually scope with audio sync but if for some reason your computer crashes and you have to revert to cassette tape, I have a transcription machine and can use that for back up. I also do proofing. I have a preference sheet, and a page rate sheet, and I believe my rates are competitive.

Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction. I hope you’ll consider me when you need a scopist.

Regards,
Dianne Hudson

I have been scoping for the last 8 years and was a court reporter for 7 years before that. I am on caseCATalyst and am looking for more work. I can do audiosync or tapes. I have a wide array of experience; railroad, asbestos, medical, oil and gas. I have several references upon request. Look forward to hearing from you.

I have been scoping for the past 3 years. The Reporter I was scoping for has retired so I am free to help you on a part time or full time basis. Currently, I am attending the Court Reporting Institute of Dallas and am maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I take pride in my work and am very strong on Medical since I have been a Certified MT for the past 20 years. I have a complete home office set up and have all the programs needed to do a professional job. I can receive wave files if you prefer and have a foot petal, fax, and voice recognition software. The computer system I am using is Vista and I have used Total Eclipse but now am using Case CATalyst and DigitalCAT. I want to scope the way you want it done and am a quick learner. Just let me know your preferences, the way you want your punctuation to be, etc and I will perform the work as if you, yourself had done the scoping. I am able to read steno and can proofread. If you want more information about me just Google me under the name Yvette Melanson. I am a published author/writer and originator of a Hallmark Feature Film. Remember, if you want total professionalism, give me a trial run. You will NOT be disappointed.

Hi! I am a California scopist using Case CATalyst 9.0. I am a former court reporting student (180 wpm) and I am passionate about this field. I am looking for a little extra work as things have slowed a bit with my freelance reporters. I am honest, friendly, and my work is always on time. You can contact me by e-mail at kristie@kristiescopingservices.com. If you would like to contact me by phone, you can reach me at (951) 837-8689. I look forward to hearing from you!
