Hearing set for 12/13/2016 at 8:45 AM.
Looking for a certified court reporter to cover an ex parte hearing in San Diego Superior Court, 330 West Broadway, Dept C-68, Judge Judit Hayes. Case number 37-216-00033384.
I am a very experienced videographer and photographer in Atlanta, GA. and I have been in full time business since 1988.
About a year ago I started studying legal video depositions. I have a strong background in private investigations, interviews, 'day in the life of", site documentation, etc. but I have very little experience in depositions.
Ervin Fargas was gracious enough to allow me to attend one of his depositions but I need LOTS more on hand observation. I have never accepted a job unless I was fully qualified
I hope a member here will allow me to shadow him/her on one or two of their depositions. I will be professional and hopefully a little helpful.

The best way to avoid a shoddy videographer is twofold. First, I recommend using a technician that has gone through a certification process of either NCRA, CLVS or the AGCV program. Secondly, if your firm is sending out non-certified technicians then suggest they look into who they are having represent them in the field. The technician who has obtained certification has been schooled in both the proficient use of the equipment as well as deposition room etiquette. You may find an extensive list of certified technicians at the respective websites. Unfortunately, some firms choose to send low paid and high turnover technicians for short sighted profit.
If you are scheduling a video deposition with an out of town court reporting firm then insist they send a certified videographer.
Now, that you have done your due diligence you have some recourse. If the certified technician is behaving inappropriately gently take them aside and advise them of your concern. If they continue and ignore your request then please contact the certifying agency and report the behavior.
I am a CLVS and have been recording video depositions for 36 years.
I am an AGCV certified legal videographer, and owner of Elite Legal & Forensic Video Services LLC, in West Caldwell, NJ. I have been in business for 13 years. I cover all of NJ, NY, NYC, PA and CT. All of my videographers are certified, by either AGCV or NCRA, and are experienced professionals.
I, as well as all of my videographers, have videotaped depositions ranging from the simple doctor deposition all the way to Pharmaceutical cases in Federal court and even cases working with the FTC.
I work with many court reporting firms and can provide their information should you want a reference.
Feel free to email me at EliteLegalVideo@gmail.com with any questions you may have for me or to receive my current deposition fee schedule.
