I love this idea. I'm always looking for a new book to read.

Just finished Without a Map by Meredith Hall. It's a memoir. It's 1966 and the author is 16 years old and pregnant. Amazing how things have changed in the last 40-some-odd years!

Also just finished Richard Russo's latest, That Old Cape Magic. I enjoyed it, but it's pretty much the same old Richard Russo: middle-aged man full of angst!

I just joined this group and am VERY surprised that there is not much activity here. I do, however, realize that Reporters, Scopists, Proofreaders and the like (except myself, it seems) are very busy these days.

Anyway, I wanted to share with this group that what I am reading now is "The Forgiveness Formula" by Kathleen Griffin and "Life Is Short But Wide", a novel (her first one) by J. California Cooper.

I try to take a few moments a day to read some form of the written word -- I learn a lot that way, because I truly believe that knowledge is power; it empowers me as a human being. Cynthia

Kimberly, I would love to read the one about Fred Rogers! I grew up watching him.
I just finished "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris. It was laugh out loud funny, and totally not what I expected at all...in a good way!

Just finished Harry Potter 2 and am reading Corrie tenBoom's "The Hiding Place'. Also reading "The Simple Faith of Mr. Rogers" about Fred Rogers. Very inspirational and amazing man. Quick read and uplifting. Love Jodi Picoult also. Always love to hear about great books to read. I just wish I had more time to read. Reading is one of my rewards.

I just finished "Girls in Trucks" by Katie Crouch a few nights ago. A very quick read. I enjoyed it too. I thought it was very honestly written - not a fluff novel. Now I'll be looking for other books by this author. Thanks, Ellen!

I just read a new novel called "Girls in Trucks" by Katie Crouch. It was so good! I just wanted to get the name out there to all of you fellow book-loving CSRnation members.
The book is about a girl growing up in the debutante culture in the deep south and her struggles with love and life. I highly recommend it!

I'm on a waiting list at my local library for Patricia Cornwell's latest in the Kay Scarpetta series, Scarpetta. I love medical/copper/lawyer thrillers, and this series has it all.

While I'm waiting for that book, I'm going to start reading The Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly. I love his Harry Bosch series, LAPD homicide detective. I've read everything by both authors. My favorite by Michael Connelly is Angel's Flight.

I just finished The Blacklist by Sara Paretsky. This is in her V.I. Warshawski series. It's about America's paranoia of Communism in the '50s and how it affected several wealthy families.

I'm reading Barack Obama's memoir, Dreams from My Father... it is so well-written! Kind of like reading a novel, but the content is non-fiction. The book has three segments: Origins, Chicago, Kenya. The origins explains his childhood, Chicago - community organizing, and Kenya - extended family.

Yay, this is like an online book club. Love it! Well, currently reading A Narrative by Arthur Gordon Pym. Edgar Alan Poe's only novel ever written about a man that goes out to sea and all the troubles he encounters. Very Poe-like.
Also reading Coraline by Neil Gaiman. Very similar to the movie so far.

Chick books are all I ever read! I just finished up "Love the One You're With" by Emily Giffin, and I absolutely loved it. I love her writing in general, though. Y'all should check her out.
