Feast or Famine

Sittin' by that phone, twiddling your thumbs as the crickets are loudly chirping away?  Maybe it was the shower you decided to skip to take that last-minute emergency depo blast that went out on CSR Nation. Is it the bad haircut you just got? Or maybe your breath stinks. If you're wondering if anyone else is in the same boat, join this group and just ask! :D

If you're getting pale and starting to forget what the sunshine looks like, share the good news!

And usually things are just steady in February.  Right now things seem to be really hopping.

True, Kerry, last year was unusual here because we were busy even in November and December.  Things usually slow down here around holiday time.

Janiece, that's great.  But it should be busy in February.  It's January that's usually slow.  Every year anymore seems to have such different patterns of busy than it used to.

Crazy busy in Kansas City.  I can't believe it is this busy this time of year.

Just wondering how work is around the country.  I'm hearing some people are busy and others are still slower than it should be.  I had a good week this week, but wish it would get hopping!  It's almost March.

I ended up being slammed the end of January and so far I've stayed pretty busy ever since.  I'm just hoping it continues this way!

My January has been really slow and February is still slow, too.  Having more cancellations than jobs that stay on.  I was slammed in December though.  I would have expected it to have picked up more by now.....

No, not really. I work for five different agencies off and on.  Mostly I do 90% with one agency, though, and could easily get three days with them.  I try to keep my foot in the door other places though, just in case my main firm gets slow.

Sometimes I really have to call around to get three jobs a week. I'm freelance. Do you think it matters whether you're staff or freelance as to how much work you get?

I consistently have at least three days a week.  I only want to work three days a week, so I'm happy.
