I'm walking more than likely. there's a 4-hour cutoff for the walkers; after that, you're on the sidewalk and the Strip is again open for traffic.

I'm walking with several reporters from NV (Karen Yates, BJ Johnson, Lori Judd, I believe are already planning it).

I can't really imagine it either - my best miles are 18 minutes. this will have to be 13 minutes per or better. Or else I'll be walking on the sidewalks. but you gotta start somewhere, and what better place than with a bunch of reporter friends?! :)

Here is the link for the Las Vegas marathon. I can't believe I'm registered - even if it IS only for the HALF. Holy cow!

Congrats, Janiece!
I was on the 6-Week Body Makeover, and you had to really cut down on a lot - including dairy. I used to get the Iced coffee at *$$ and put in two of the Splenda Vanilla or Chocolate sweeteners. Not too bad, actually. Not as good as a mocha of course, but there you have it.

Wha-hoo, busted through a plateau. I got rid of 3.4 pounds. That's in several weeks. My body just wouldn't let go. I kept bouncing around on the scale.
Things that really helped me break through: 1) Water, I was not a water drinker. I have now seen the light. I am now a water drinker.
2) Consistent on exercise. 3) Tracking what I ate. 4) Pretty much cut out diet pop (makes me retain water). 5) Stopped drinking mochas from Starbucks. I think it's too much sugar. 6) Started eating Quaker Weight reduction oatmeal and 1/2 cup of skim milk and a scrambled egg for breakfast. I had been drinking the mocha, w/ skim milk of course!!!! :-)

I'm in a whole new set of numbers now. Onward and downward on the scale.

Race for the Cure, Raleigh. 22,000 participants. $2 million raised. It was hot, hot, hot! 90+ with heat index. I did 5k in 1 hour and 4 minutes. Not bad, for the heat and the crowd. So I got my 30 minutes in!

Did I tell you guys I signed up for the Las Vegas half marathon in December with some CR folks? The walk time is 4 hours... but you can finish on the sidewalks if you need to. Who else is in? It can be a "business trip" for us!

I'm doing the Race for the Cure tomorrow morning. That will be MORE than a half an hour. :)

let's just hope for good weather.

You don't have to do lunges on my account. :)
How about 15 minutes added to your walk?

I've promised myself 100 days of 30 minutes every day, at least. And I'm going to do the 1/2 Marathon (walking) in Vegas in December with some court reporter friends.
