Oh, okay; so you're trying to trick me, huh? Okay. I saw San Bernardino under your name and I thought that's where you were living, thus working. If I had known that was just a birthplace, maybe I should have put Biloxi, Mississippi under mine. I bet that would have sent the wrong message to everybody. Okay, so San Jose, huh? All right, well I grew up in San Mateo, went to J.C. at Canada College for my court reporting. Yes, I do depos here in southern Cali. I guess you're not coming to the convention, then, huh? Thanks for responding to me. Oh, yeah, one more thing. Are you really 50 years of age or is that another mistake under your photo? If you are, you are the YOUNGEST looking 50 i've ever seen. Congratulations on your passing the CSR. Your number is fairly recent. If you passed that exam at that age, a lot of young people would love to hear about that and hold you up as an example. Hi, Elise, I love what Michael wrote about you passing the CSR when you were - ahem - not in your twenties! So true - very inspiring to other aspiring students who are also not in their twenties.

Elise, I'm at Mom's - just got back at 6:00 tonight. Had a great time - learned some good stuff - not too much, but enough. Tried out the LS for a bit, had Keith and Jeremy fix some apparently OLD RT macros. Everyone was very helpful and nice. I'll try to call tomorrow from Mom's. I'm going home in the late afternoon. Hope you got all your jobs out - ha!

Seems you had some problems, and I can see how that would make it hard to get out of school, but at least now you can say you did it!!! God, I can't wait till I can say that, I'm still in that, "What did I get myself into stage," lol. Some days I think I might of gotten in over my head and I even wander can I do this. But trying to change my career now is really not an option for me, so I figure I might as well stick with it, and I just keep reminding myself, Rome wasn't built in a day. Thinking when you first got started you couldn't do anything, and now look what I can do, so if I could get that, must mean I can do the rest. Its not all that its hard, but mainly that it is soooooo much, and maybe when theres been enough time to let it all sink in, all the pieces will fall into place, and it wont be hard but just something you can do, that comes automatic and easy, kinda like learning to ride a big bike when your such a small kid, I suppose everything comes with time, all I have to do is pray I have it. Thanks for all the encouragment, you know as students you can always use more, lol.

I must confess, I am a CSRnation newbie. You have been the first person I touched base w/. I just clkd on broadcast captioners and there you were.

Second confession...I've never done Facebook or Myspace or even online dating so I am completely clueless about how this works. If you have any hints or tips, I'm very interested!!!

Just wondering if you will be at the Anaheim convention next month. Looking for networking opportunities and, as u probably know, there is always room for new friends in this profession!

Greetings from the southern end of this great state! I am also a newbie on Bridge, so I'm still navigating my way through it. My job this coming Tuesday will require me to use it again, so I'm going to put myself through a "refresher" and watch the tutorial videos once more. It's not difficult at all. I'm sure you'll find it easy to use. If I can't answer your questions, there are TONS o' folks out here who can. I think you can also download the tutorials off of the Eclipse website. I may also end up trying out that other software that was mentioned (Transcript Pro?). So many new things, so little time!

Good for you for heading in the direction of realtime! I'm sure you're closer than you think. It's hard, I'll admit, to "let go" and be able to laugh at yourself when you hit the keys for "escrow" [SKROE] and it translates into "sexual intercourse" on the screen. (That's never happened to me, by the way) :-0

Your photos and videos are SO fun! I need to get on the bandwagon and get some photos and music uploaded. Drop in anytime! Maybe you'll be able to teach ME a few things on Bridge!

Elise, I'll probably be away the weekend of the 13th. There's a big family graduation party on Sat. the 13th. I haven't seen my cousins in years so I'm going to push myself to go maybe to Mom's on Friday and back Sunday evening. Alan is out today so if you can call later, that would be great!

That's my Mom's shed. It's packed wall to wall with stuff as Scot lives in the converted garage. I'll have to email you a more recent pic of it as they've painted all the trim now. To me it's a bit on the tacky side, but Mom and Scot like it! Her yard truly is amazing. We need to meet over there one day!

How are you? You do some depos, correct? I am a student in my 200's at West Valley trying to qualify for the Feb. CSR. I need to get some depo hours in the next month. Are you doing any depos right now that I might be able to come and sit in? If not, do you know anyone else who is?

Hi Elise,

Unfortunately, tomorrow, I'll need to be in school for the jury charge. I am free on Tuesday from about 10-4 and then every other day this week I am free, except Wed afternoon and evening. The week after, I can do almost any time (not Tuesday after 4 or Wednesday before noon). SJ is definitely no problem. I live in Los Altos.

Will you be having a lot of jobs this month, do you think? What is normally the average length? Thank you so much for helping me. And, of course, I will give your regards to those ladies; they are great!

Elise, too funny.  I clicked on the profile pic to see what it was about, and found out it was yours!!!  I scoped 200 pages of my first day of rush and am now starting to proof the first 79 pages of the second day.  I owe it all to the chocolate I've been eating!
