"You could always re-tran the notes. The audio sync will still match up bec. the time codes should be built into the notes that you are re-tranning. Word of advice, re-tran with the job dictionary added. That way you won't have to go through…"

Awesome. Yeah, girl, I have been busy. I hit the ground running. That "looking for my paycheck" every week got old really fast -- I mean, it got so bad at one point, I was just convinced that my mailman was holding my checks on purpose..LOL

I am on as an overflow reporter with like 7 firms, but glad to say that I have one firm that I am working for now on more of a regular basis and it's going great.

I don't think I could have chosen a better profession to be a part of, b/c I love every minute of it. I found that I don't like court much, though, to my surprise. I love having a new topic of discussion to listen to everyday, and most of the drive isn't so bad -- my main firm is awesome with getting us depos close to our home location. Anyway, I won't chat your ear off, I know you're probably busy. Work has been slamming and I ain't turning down **i*..LOL

Stay in touch.

yep, I work 4 days a week 10-hr days (or so) at the PD, then I do depos on Mondays. I found a wonderful Los Angeles agency who took me on with my limited schedule. For a while I even captioned at college one night a week. My husband started working recently, but we're not sure he's going to stay there. Good jobs are hard to find, especially with good health insurance. My kids are 20, 17 & 16. They were young when I started school, so it took me quite a while to finally finish, but finish I did. I now have licenses in CA and NV. How did I do it? By the grace of God and the strength he gives me daily. Plus I love this profession.

Hi Amanda,
How have you been. Not sure if it's you, but if you're the Amanda I'm thinking of, we went to CRID together a few years back. I just know this is your pic. How have you been? Are you in Texas working? What field did you fall in love with?

Hey, Amanda,

I know that the Angelina County Court at Law No. 1 is looking for a full-time court reporter. It's a move--Lufkin, Texas--but thought I'd pass it on if you would be interested in moving. It's east Texas.

Here's a c/p of the posting:

One small town in East Texas is looking for an official reporter to fill their County Court at Law position. Pays not bad for a small town and the workplace is great. If you might be interested in a change please contact dhcourtclerk@yahoo.com

I can attest to the fact that this is a dream job for someone who wants to be an official, yet doesn't want the stress of having trial after trial to get out for appeals.

Send me a message if there's any questions I can answer.

Hey!!! :) Mr. Rush is selling ProCAT. I emailed him way back when, and he was telling me some about it. That's the one that is actually somewhat cheaper. I'm not sure how good it is though? One lady with the company told me she could get it for $2,995 or something like that.

Haha! I did actually get a new machine... well not new, but new to me anyway. lol It's just a 400SRT like the one I had before. It will have to do for a while though!
