Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for the "thank you." I think everyone knows deep inside them somewhere the truth in positive thinking. We just get so muddled with day to day life and trying to "survive" that we lose sight of it. Every time you start feeling negative, just re-direct your attention to something positive and you'll see how things will start lining up with that positive thought. It's a lot of work at first, but pretty soon it becomes as easy as breathing! I know things will get better -- there is no other way to look at it!

Jennifer, I'm on my way out the door, but I'll write back when I get home. I can tell you that things are super slow in Florida right now and most of us are begging for work!

Hey Jennifer, I am so sorry I haven't gotten back to you. My husband lost his second job, so I've been working like crazy trying to catch up with finances. I will tell you that here in the Bay Area, not that I am an expert by any means, but things are pretty much the same. Prices vary somewhat, and firm do and don't pay for parking, etc., things like that. But most of the firms that I have worked for are larger firms that do pay for those types of things. Rates are pretty comparable. I would just say one thing that helped me when I started, was if there was a firm I found on this web site or anywhere for that matter, I would always call a seasoned reporter. . for me, it was a gal that I interned with, and I would ask her about that particular firm. She would immediately say, no, stay away, they don't pay, or yeah, they're great. There usually was no inbetween. You get my drift? Let me know if you have any other questions, okay. Elise

Jennifer, when you come out to a new state, always check the reputation of the firms from other seasoned reporters, perhaps ones on this site or others, to make sure you get reporting firms that on the straight and narrow about their pymt plan. That's a very important issue to be sure you're working for a reputable firm. Enough said. Elise

Hi, Jennifer,
I don't know anyone right now, but if you email me at office@jrsreporters.com with all your info, I'll pass it along to others for scoping work. I am on Case Catalyst too so it would be easy to work with you, but right now I don't have much work so I don't need a scopist. Keep me posted when you get to CA too.
Thanks, Kristy
