Hi. Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. And congratulations on getting your certification :-) I'm sure you'll be working before you know it. Are you using speech recognition software? If so, how's it working for you?

Congrats on the new number. Now all you need is a photo for your web page. Just kidding!

Okay! Here's what I did, although I work for Caption Colorado, I think it is a similar deal on the submission aspect. They want you to sit down and write realtime for 30 minutes (whatever program they ask you to do) and then submit the ACII text file AS IS with no editing whatsoever by you. That's pretty much all there is to that part of it. They may write back and give you some suggestions about things you might want to change and/or tweak about your writing style or your dictionaries or something. Then just keep submitting until you pass muster! I guess if you could go to one of their bootcamps that would be great. I purchased "Captioning The Vitac Way" from the NCRA site and I really really really relied on that when I was mentally making the leap into captioning. Lots of good advice there. I also purchased the Caption Accelerator program from the NCRA site as well and while I didn't use it as much as I perhaps SHOULD HAVE, it was an EXCELLENT program as well. I mainly kept a writer hooked up to a laptop by my television 24/7 and kept the channel on CNN Headline News and whenever I had an opportunity, I would sit down and write and write and write. What is nice about CNN Headline News is that the news is presented in 30 minute cycles so you get a chance at the stories over and over and they will quickly go through sports and financial news, et cetera. I totally love working as a captioner and I am very happy to answer any questions that I can or help direct you to someone who can answer them. Let me know how you're doing!

Well, hello, "T":
Hopefully, next time, I'll have a name to call you by. I'm not that familiar with this new club we've joined yet, so if your name is somewhere else, I beg your pardon as I search for it. All I know now is T-Mails, as I read it or if it's in steno, it's "Nails". Am I trippin' or what? Anyhow, thanks for the invite and I accept you. Wow, you are gorgeously beautiful. Did you say Georgia? Wow, the peaches are still still beautiful there, huh? Congratulations on passing your CSR. I remember when I got my results. I am so very happy for you. If you need any advice, don't hesitate to call on me. I'll do whatever I can. You'll have a great career. Anyhow, until next time, seasons greetings to you and all yours. Thanks again for the invite, Gorgeous; (until you give me your name.) P.S. Oh, yes: Nice site setup you have. Very very nice. Other talents you have also, huh? Take care.

No. Tennessee doesn't have a state test. We are only required to pass the CSR in school. I do plan to take the RPR (maybe in the spring) because my husband and I would love to move back to Atlanta. The pay there is awesome.

Your site is so cool. Congrats on passing that test. I hear the test in Georgia is really really hard. I'm a student in Chattanooga and will be taking the 225 test in the spring.
