Hi Yvonne. Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I'm very new to this site and didn't see your comment until now.
In answer to your question, since 1987, when I graduated and passed the California CSR and RPR, I've covered probably every area of court reporting -- medical, technical, personal injury, accident reconstruction, etc.
But for the House, the type of testimony depended on the committee that held the hearing -- Armed Services, Intel, Judiciary, Natural Resources, etc. I've taken them all and I covered the House floor proceedings too. The committee hearings were all daily copy; the House floor proceedings were hourly copy.
Hello Yvonne. Yes, I would love to talk to you! My direct email is raingirl0831@yahoo.com. Please email me and I can send you my resume and a recommendation letter, etc. I'd love to do some realtime work for you or daily copy, etc.
oh, cool. that works for me. I'm covered. Never mind now.
p.s. Hope I helped pass the day for you.
Thanks for your excellent computer skills. You're a gem.

Wow, amazing how many folks have land here. Yes, I know where it is, but it's about the only area in the country I haven't visited. I guess I'm still waiting for a deposition there. Hmmm. What do you plan to do with the land? I hear wonderful things about the area, and have found through e-mail a captioner that has a condo in that area also ... maybe it's time to get together. When was the last time you were in Costa Rica?
Hi, Yvonne --
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I've got one of my main reporters taking a sabbatical in October, but she's killing me in the meantime!!!
I'd be happy to help you with your proofing if you don't have it covered yet.
Re the scoping, it's on the reporter herself to make sure her quoting is correct if she's a stickler about it. Some are a bit lax about exact quoting, others just say to use a colon. Each reporter is different. You'll need to negotiate that.
Thank you for the response, Yvonne. I did get it covered pretty quickly this morning, but I would love to be able to contact you in the future for further work. Please let me know your rates for an O&1 business lit job and then for a copy. I don't have need for a lot of Livenote right now. Thank you so much!!!
