Hi. Cassie-

I am currently living in Texas, and I will be relocating to the Tampa area the beginning of the year. I have been trying to research firms in Tampa, but I have not had much luck. I was wondering if you knew of any good firms to work for…? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Cassie.

Hi, Cassie! No problem with the questions. Always like to help a fellow reporter. The only "officialships" that I know in Palm Beach County are the ones in criminal court there. Those reporters actually work for the county. As far as firms having contracts to cover hearing, etc., in the county, I've never really heard of any like in Broward or Miami-Dade. All the firms cover hearing for their clients if and when they need them. Although I live in Delray Beach, I work about 75% for a firm in Broward called United Reporting. I like them and they are busy. There are some good firms up in West Palm, but they are not busy like Broward and Miami. Even though West Palm has really come into its own the last five to ten years, it still hasn't quite caught up with the other counties. It's not dead, but if you're used to making megabucks...I travel all over, all three counties plus, different states and different countries. I like to go, go, go. Can't imagine too many more years at that, though. I'm 52 and counting! Any more questions, I'm here. Darline

Hi Cassie,
Yes, I worked in the Gerstein building. I worked for Judge Altonaga mostly but had a change to work with Judge Echarte, Crespo, Sigler, Silverman, Rodriguez both male and female, Carney and quite a few retired judges that would fill in. Where are you now? I miss south florida too. I will be going back at some point. There is actually a position open there now in federal court. My old judge Judge Altonaga is now a federal judge there and we keep in touch and there are some openings. :-) Thanks so much for contacting me. What reporters do you know from Miami? I was with Laws at the time and we parted badly. They still owe me money. Who were you with?
