How is the Impession writer?

I worked with a scopist I found here at CSR Nation a few months back.  Her name is Jean Marie Beanland.  She is out of California.  I was working on a daily for two days.  I had another scopist set up to do my morning session, and Jean Marie was to do my afternoon.  I uploaded my first afternoon session to her by 3:00 p.m. (Eastern).  My job finished at 7:00 p.m (Eastern).  I did not hear from her.  So I called her.  She said she had not gotten to my pages yet because her husband was out of town and she was crazy busy.  I told her how many pages total I got and that I needed it by 7:00 a.m. (eastern) the next morning.  She told me she was only able to do 100 or so pages.  I was stuck.  I needed to come up with a plan.  Plan A, stay up all night and finish the job myself

or, B, I had to find someone else to help me out.  Well, I had to get up and do the dep all over again.  Therefore, I opted to quickly find someone.  I did find someone, but it cost me.  Because it was a short notice, I had to pay double the daily scoping fee.  Jean Marie then informed me she would not be able to do the whole afternoon session the next day either.  So, again, I had to ask the other scopist to help me out.  Again, I had to pay double the daily fee.  It concerns me that there are scopists out there who agree to do dailies and then aren't able to finish what they say they're going to do and, in addition, keep you on pins and needles waiting for the job to come in.  In this case, it put me in a costly predicament.  Not only did I pay her, but I had to pay the other scopist twice as much. It truly saddens me.

Hi.  I signed up over a week ago and have not received any "alerts" to court reporting jobs in my area.  I was in a deposition with my videographer (who is on CSRNation) and he got three this week for court reporting jobs.

How can I get these e-mail alerts?  Thanks for your help!!!

Thanks, Kelli.  It was kind of small up there at the top of the site, and I didn't see it!  I know I have searched before and couldn't find things.  But maybe it's because there were no comments.

Hi, Kelli - Is there a way to specifically search for agencies under the "Have you ever heard of" group?  Whenever I see a new agency requesting help, I try to research the site to see if any comments are made, and I always have to go through all the old ones.  Is that the only way?

Thanks!

Debbie

Kel, I think the Impression is made by ProCat, right? I used to have the Flashwriter for YEARS and loved it. It got replace by the Diamante. I hated the Diamante when I first got it and wanted my Flash back, but Stenograph said they supposed destroyed it to get it out of the market, so I couldn't have it back. :/ I bet I'd love the Impression. It "sounds" like a great machine, anyway. Oh, when you get it, do you think I could come over and play with it??? :D Thanks!

Haha, yes, I've moved into my condo. I still have a few things to do: hang pendant lights over peninsula in kitchen, paint one accent wall in the LR, pick out & install dining light and get TV stand/entertainment system. It's so hard to furnish a place completely from scratch! I thought I would be able to do the housewarming this month, but I want to knock out these finishing touches. I'll have to get it tidied up a bit and have you over for some wine. :)

I didn't want to hijack Cathy's blog, so I've messaged you here. :)

Hi, Kelli,

My mom is a newbie scopist and so I'm having her sign up to be in here so she can put up an ad and read commentary to understand everything better, maybe ask some questions when they come up.  She said it's $20.  Is that right?  I'm just wondering if she was redirected to a fake site or if she's in the wrong place.   Thank you!

Kelli, thanks again for the info re Tutto.  I just wanted to tell you that I have had their Office on Wheels for years and loved it, but periodically the wheels start going wildly in different directions.  I finally found documents from the '90s and found their phone number, called them and they are quite willing to fix the wheels.

Their phone number is 1-800-949-1288.   They have nothing to do with the folks at Amazon, however, who know nothing about this product even though one is directed to their website.  If you put an http in front of www.tutto.com, the original Tutto's site comes up and all is well.

Thanks again, Elois

Kelli, I think the problem with the Touch is that people don't want to sit down and take the time to calibrate the keys and adjust them the way they need to be. I had a problem with a few keys, and I don't anymore because I was taught how to further adjust them. I love this machine now - just had to get through the learning curve.

Ahhh, thanks, Kelli.  I never take pictures of myself and I hate them all.  My daughter keeps telling me I have to add a picture, so I did.  LOL  I still love this site!!!!

I was afraid you'd have a difficult time with it.  I spent so many hours on mine. Still, you may get some good advice and info if you post in that group - before you give up on it.

Kelli,

I just wanted to let you know I have passed all my steno training classes, and have gotten A's & B's in them.

Sure thing, Kelli.  I've contacted some and they've agreed to email you.  As in any profession, there are good and bad people out there.  I do my best to provide quality service and the best product I can.

Hi Kelli,

sorry to bother you.. I was wondering if you had a forum about agencies that don't pay.. A few of my friends took depositions for Quintero Depositions in So Cal.  The agency is Napa, and they haven't gotten paid.. I'm just wondering if they're on some sort of list or if they have ever been banned from your website.

Thanks.

The cushion is what sold me, too.   It will be good to wear them while editing too.

I do the same thing.     Amazon and eBay know me by now.  :)

This is one of my favorite purchases:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DYE7R28/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can heat it or freeze it.

I hope they're not too restricting at work.  They don't look like they will be.  Some of the ones I've had I end up ripping off during the day because they slow down finger movement too much.
