Over the course of my many years reporting, I have had some pretty crazy things happen.  I thought it would be fun to share some of our stories.  Many years ago I took a depo which was very demanding, realtime, tech problems, the works.  I was able to troubleshoot and I must say did an outstanding job as the material was highly technical as well!!!!! When going around the room taking lunch orders, the witness who was an Indian chemist ordered a vegetarian lunch. As I had renounced meat for the one hundredth time, I said, "l'll have the same, please."  At the end of the day, the office I had been working for called to ask how things went during the depo.  I said there were some realtime issues, but they had been resolved.  She then stated, "By the way, what about lunch, you ordered vegetables." I couldn't and still can't believe that anyone would take the time to report that as some type of unprofessional egregious  behavior, but it happened. I never was called to work for that agency again and I'm actually quite grateful for that!!!!!

As a scopist, I come across so many funny things in transcripts and hear my reporters' tale of woe when they go to an agency to take a job and something odd happens.  One of my gals told me that she was very excited to be asked to take a job at a very prestigious court reporting agency.  She took hours deciding what to wear, fussed over herself a great deal, and made sure all her equipment was in top shape.  She finished the job and piled in her car, glanced in the rearview mirror to put on some new lipstick and noticed she had eye makeup on only ONE EYE!!!  She was asked to work again with the agency, so it turned out to not be that big a deal, but boy, was she embarrassed!

That is just irritating.  Sometimes you just can't do anything right.

Wow.  Just wow.  God forbid they should try to appreciate skills and talents instead of LOOKING for ridiculous things to complain about.  I guess unprofessionals assume others are as unprofessional.
