Looking for a proofreader to help out with two transcripts that are expedite.  I need the pages to be sent back to me, or if you can do the line number page number thing, but I cannot do the proofing that has the comments in it.  That just doesn't work for me.   I need these proofed for content, punctuation, double Q and A, anything foreign.  Please let me know if you can help out, myscilyn@aol.com

Hi! If you're looking for a proofreader who loves her job, takes pride in making her work as flawless as possible, and has the utmost respect for the amount of hard work that YOU, the court reporter, puts into your job, then look no further. I am a firm believer in an open line of communication between a court reporter and their team, and I will do everything I can to help you meet your deadlines and to exceed your expectations.

I generally proofread by PDF, and I am available to do regular, rush, and expedited jobs. Also, I love working weekends, so I don't charge extra for it.

If you'd like to learn more about me, as well as my rates (including my discount for new clients!), please visit my website:  keeneyeproofreading.com

My name is Vincent Prewitt, trained Case CATalyst scopist and proofreader. I have an extensive amount of experience editing court transcripts, and I am a former transcriptionist.
While I have been trained and tested on the principles of Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters, I will cater to your preferences should you have those.

Strengths:
Hard worker, very reliable
Attention to detail
Research
Communication

To get started, for scoping, I would need any and all files you use when you recorded the transcript (full audio, the actual sgngl file, dictionary files, globals, etc).
For proofreading, all I would need is the sgngl file. Alternatively for proofreading, I can do PDF or use track changes in Microsoft Word.
My schedule is open and available to take work right now and throughout the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Normal and expedite turnaround are being accepted at this time. Please send an e-mail to vinceproofs@gmail.com for any questions you have about rates or other general questions about my work.
I look forward to meeting your scoping or proofreading needs in the foreseeable future.

Busy? Overwhelmed? Exhausted? Need five extra minutes to maintain your sanity? I can help!

Instead of taking the time to proofread your transcripts yourself, send them to me. I will go over them, fact checking dates and addresses, correcting punctuation for readability, and catching those sneaky typos that slip by. When you give your transcript to me, I'm a set of fresh eyes. I'll do my best to make sure you have a clean, accurate transcript. I work by marking on PDF. Audio is available upon request at a different rate.

For references I use:

  • Lillian Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters
  • Bad Grammar, Good Punctuation by Margie Wakeman Wells
  • Gregg's Reference Manual
  • The best punctuation book, period. by June Casagrande
  • The Merriam-Webster Dictionary
  • Various Internet sources (e.g. drugs.com, usacourts.gov, etc)

And most importantly:

  • Your preferences.

I will take your preferences into account when proofreading. Like the Oxford comma? Great! Hate it? Ok, that's fine too. I'm here to help YOU.

Please don't hesitate to e-mail me with any jobs, questions, or just to chat! Please visit my website here for more information or e-mail me at natalie@tobrighteststars.com.

Looking for a reliable proofreader?  Maybe not right this exact second, but perhaps you'll find yourself back to this page when you are swamped or in need of someone on a random Sunday evening to meet deadline when no one else is answering your emails.

I offer competitive rates and availability (no extra charge for weekends).  Your work is important to you; your work is important to me.  Check out www.proofreadingstudio.com to learn more and potentially contact me regarding your next job.
