I got a "Notice to Reporter to Prepare Transcript" on appeal in a case I previously did a hearing on.  Can someone direct me where to get step-by-step instructions on how to prepare that, and also how to bill and collect for it?  I'd so appreciate it!

Hi Natalie:

If you've already prepared it, you print it out again with the court of appeals case number added on the cover and add the plastic covers.  You can google your state statutes for more precise information.

If it's a civil case (family, civil, or mental health) you should collect in advance for the 0+1 and then you file it with the court of appeals.

Criminal, you bill the state or the county and other reporters in your jurisdiction will help with that.  If your transcript is in the middle of a trial, you'll have to paginate with the other reporters.

I hope this was helpful.
