TIMECODES IN ECLIPSE

Many times my program freezes during a job and I have to re tran the job and the timecodes get messed up. Is there any way to fix the timecodes once the job is done?

If you have timecodes enabled on your writer, you can retran the raw steno and still get the timecdoes and audio synched. Otherwise, not so much.

Thank you for getting in touch with me. I am on a Stentura 8000 so I don't think it is possible with this writer. Can't the transcript still be audio synched without the timecodes? Also, what compression do you use for your audio/? Thanks for help. Anita

Are you retranslating the notes in your Eclipse? If you retranslate the notes from the Eclipse, then the time codes should still be there.

Make sure that when you retran, that your new ecl file has the same exact same name as your wav file except for the extension.

If your time codes are truly messed up, Gordon Gidluck might be able to fix them, but he charges for that.

What version of Eclipse are you on? It shouldn't be freezing all the time, and I believe the constant freezing issues have been dealt with in the recent versions.

Yes, Lisa, it is an older model. BTW, what do you consider the best audio compression to be?

I use Speex 18.2 kBit/x 8.0 kHz, Mono, Q9 2 kb/sec

Great audio quality, small file size.
