Hello my csrnation friends. I am having a lot of trouble learning the CaseCat Software. We only have one semester to learn everything and it's just going too fast. I don't know what to do. I was thinking about switching to Eclipse because i heard it more user friendly. Any advice?

Thanks

Hmmm..I don't think we really learned much when I was in school about the software. It's been trial and error and some training by Sandi Starbuck for me. I feel like Case Catalyst is pretty user friendly. I don't know all the bells and whistles, but the basics are pretty easy.
Hi Kwanna,

I train scoping students on both so if you want to contact me privately at drscoping@gmail.com, I would be happy to see how I can assist you in getting more comfortable with it.

I also provide these trainings as conference calls that are recorded so anyone can listen to them (with students asking questions ) when they have time. All conference calls that I provide have additional written instructions to follow along with.

Sincerely,
Ms. Devon Roberts

Hi Kwanna,
It can seem a little overwhelming at first, just like any new task, but don't despair. It takes time to learn your software and that's true no matter what you buy.....I have heard that Eclipse is good, and I love my CaseCat, so the decision is yours, and either way you can't go wrong....just try to be patient and make yourself cheat notes so you can remember shortcuts!
Good luck!
Thanks everyone!!!!!
I recommend staying with Case Catalyst. I think it is MUCH EASIER to learn than other software you may be considering.

Do you have a specific question or issue with Case Catalyst you need help with?

Hi Kwanna, I'd say stick with Case CATalyst. It's just as good as Eclipse and I find it to be more user friendly. As practice you should try the computer-based tutorial as reinforcement for what you're learning in class. It's a self-pace program that is part of Case CATalyst. You can find it if you look under Help, Basic Skills CBT.

Also, you can take the CBT chapter by chapter and perhaps you can use the CBT to supplement what you're learning in class that day/week.

I'm an East Coast guy, but you can contact me at AFrisolone@aol.com if you need help. Also, my phone number is on my page here at CSRnation.
