Cathryn, that is beyond interesting. My system just started doing that. It took me 40 4-evers to get my Stenocast working...had to upgrade. Fine. And then just recently...I get those one and two page freezes and then DUMP. all in a great big rush. ACK. But I am wireless. Wonder what they would tell me???

Interesting that you got a fix, though. Almost enough to make me go wired again :)

This is an excellent contribution to this fine forum. I don't have a lot of time to hang out online anywhere at present, but I pledge to do my best to help keep this section gain some momentum.

I have had lots of computer drama this past fall which were opportunities for growth, a phrase which is often and justifiably preceded by an expletive. Two of my best insights gained were:

A computer keyboard + a cup of coffee + a kitten = Well, just don't do that; okay?

Many of us with Stenturas are now using adapters which convert the USB ports which are now popular to the serial port you need for your realtime cord. If you have a Stentura machine and get a new computer, there are likely to be problems with halting realtime. You're writing merrily away, and the realtime stops for a heartstopping moment before a page and a half of text tumbles onto your screen, or it just stops, period. Then it happens again a few days later. Then it's all right for nearly a week, and then it happens yet again. IMO, it's natural to assume the problem is your software, and a kind and knowledgable Advantage Technician spent a long time working with me to tweak various scarily obscure aspects of Total Eclipse. Finally, in the name of covering all possible sources of the problem, I called Stenograph Tech Support. Turns out they know all about it, and the solution is to make sure you have a Coolgear adapter. I haven't had a single glitch ever since I started using mine, and I've passed this on to other reporters I know who have had the same nerve-wracking problem.

Maybe these two items are not strictly Eclipse-related. But trust me, they are valuable.

I'm hoping to make this one of the best forums for Eclipse on the Internet. This site has over 3,000 members, and there are over 800 Eclipse users on here. We have the potential to really reach out and help a lot of users.

I thought I'd start by listing some of my favorite little things about Eclipse.
1. To quickly change the text size on screen, hit ctrl shift F7 to enlarge and ctrl shift F8 to shrink.
2. To quickly change the spacing, hit alt - (minus) to make it single-spaced and alt + (plus) to make it double.
