Does anyone in here use Case Catalyst along with Word for their transcription? I've been trying but have formatting issues. Was just trying to see if anyone else is using it. Thanks! :)

Sounds like what I am looking for with input fields.

Thanks!

K.C., I think it does. In Chapter 3, there is an entire section on editing templates, examples of typical templates, file/new template shortcut, global templates vs. templates, normal.dot template - change, normal.dot template - locate in Word 2002/2003, organize templates, shortcut icon on desktop, stored in, and template examples with input fields.

Now, mind you, all of the above is still Greek to me, but if it makes sense to you, that is Chapter 3. ;)

Jennie-
Does the "Tips 'N Techniques," book talk about setting up a title and appearance page macro or template? I found information of accomplishing this in WP as a merge, but would like to do the same in Word. I started looking at inserting text form fields. Not sure that gets me where I want to be.

May have to check it out then. I agree with you. I am a keyboard person. Much, much quicker and to the point.

Have you checked out that word processing forum? I wonder if she is the Cheryl I see answering so many Word inquiries.

K.C., I love the book. It is an extremely informative guide, and it is geared towards TRANSCRIPTION, which I love.

Word has too many bells and whistles in it that I will never use, and I hate using a mouse to do stuff. This book tells you how to get things accomplished when it comes to putting together a transcript.

The author, Cheryl Flanders, is a transcriptionist, and she knows EXACTLY what we need to know to accomplish our goals. I highly recommend! :)

Have you received the book? What are your first impressions?

I do not have Word 2007, and I received a Word 2007 file from a client. It was the agenda of a meeting. I couldn't open it up. It had a .docx ending.

I downloaded this FREE file converter from Microsoft. WOW! It worked, and it was FREE. Here is the link for anyone who needs to convert a Word 2007 document to a older version of Word.
