Sorry I've been MIA for so long on here! I've been helping out at my husband's office on top of CR studies, so I'm a bit overwhelmed. It's great to see someone else in the area! What program are you working on?
As for "Cali," (everyone calls it that except us that live here :) ) depends on what you've seen on t.v.! haha! But yeah, it's a fab place to live - especially where I am - northern Ca.; about 1/2 outside of San Francisco in the burbs. Great weather, shopping, outdoor activities, restaurants. We got it all! Let me know if you're ever coming out & I can give ya a tour! So a little over a year you've been in school, huh? Stick w/ it. It's TOTALLY worth it!
Congrats on the speed test! Man, do I remember those days!! But you'll Need every one of them, believe me! What speed was it? How many people are in your school? Again, great place to live. And I'll have more pics in about 2 weeks, as I'm going to ARUBA for 9 days w/ my GF (the 1 in the pic of us w/ the ocean behind us). Can't wait! Just trying to feverishly finish up 2 transcripts before I go - totaling 300 pages!
Hey there, nice too meet you....are you going to school online? I see you profile says that you are in Louisiana, but you are attending school in Dallas. How do you like the school?
Congrats! I just passed my 120 wpm...and still a long ways to go!
I go to school in NYC and I work full time...and I am 6 months pregnant, so I have a lot going..haha!
Hi,
I am also a student, I attend SimplySteno. I use to go to a brick and mortar school but the school was disorganized so I switched.
It is good to meet another student.

HEY JILL!!! HAPPY TO MEET A FELLOW CRIDDER! WHERE ARE YOU IN YOUR STUDIES? I'M JUST FINISHING UP THEORY AND I'VE BROKEN THRU 50 WPM (OH, GOLLY, WOW!) I'M REALLY ENJOYING GOING TO SCHOOL ONLINE - COULDN'T DO IT ANY OTHER WAY!
I NOTICE YOU LIVE IN LOUISIANA - MY HEART'S DESIRE IS TO LIVE IN NEW ORLEANS! MAYBE SOMEDAY! I'M GOING TO TRY AND GO TO AN HEIRLOOM SEWING RETREAT IN OCTOBER ON AVERY ISLAND, BUT IT DEPENDS ON WHETHER I HAVE A PERSONAL INJURY TRIAL THAT WILL ACTUALLY GO TO TRIAL (3RD SETTING IN 2 YEARS -- HORRIBLE CASE AND WILL TAKE 3 WEEKS TO TRY -- WE WILL SEE IF THE ATTORNEYS ACTUALLY FORGE AHEAD! BTW, I WORK FOR A JUDGE - IT'S NOT "my" CASE, JUST A CASE ASSIGNED TO US).
I THINK THIS WEBSITE IS INCREDIBLY COOL AND HELPFUL, ESPECIALLY TO THOSE OF US WHO ATTEND ONLINE SCHOOLS - THE NETWORKING IS INVALUABLE!
oops -- that didn't work too well (not enough coffee)-- I just love CRID, too! I'm in class with Mr. Sadler - awesome teacher - he's so incredibly positive and just keeps you pumped up and going! I'm really glad I decided on CRID because the staff is really terrific and my classmates are beyond wonderful!
Oh, I decided to tackle court reporting because if my judge ever retires, I'm out of work! Paralegals don't get paid squat in New Mexico! And, frankly, reporting is what I always wanted to do but I lived in an isolated area and couldn't get to a school (at the time I wanted to go, I would have had to leave and go to school in Dallas, Phoenix or LA) and then I got married......you know the story.....So, I'm doing it now.
You're by Shreveport, aren't you? It's been a long time since I've been in the northern part of Louisiana, but I think I remember that - near the Texas border? (Anything 300 miles or closer is "near the border"!) - By the way, silly, Avery Island isn't an island and it's where they make TABASCO and it's near Lafayette and the reason we go there is because the McIlhenney's wife is friends of the teacher and the teacher got displaced during Katrina ..... so I guess I will do my retreat there!
LOL! You're too funny! What's your "other job"? At this point, steno has practically taken over my life and reporting to work is restful. Have a bench trial going on today, so I'm in the office puttering.
Oh, I just love Mr. Sadler - he is always so prepared for class and puts so much work into it! And, being positive helps. You know, I keep seeing things about a 97% attrition rate -- I don't think he has much attrition in his classes - he keeps everyone going. Hope I get him next semester!
Hey Jill, what's up! Thanks so much for letting us know about this page..I have been having some computer problems so I'm sorry it took me so long to respond.
