That sounds great! I am going to Las Vegas this weekend and am coming home on Sunday. What time is it at? Maybe I can plan accordingly to get home in time and make it there. How are you doing? I was crazy busy but last week was dead and this week isn't looking too good either.
  • Mary Motley O'Brien

I'm not too much fun these days =( I hope to get to one of these some time, but think it will have to wait until after Olivia is here. I've also officially been told, as of today, to not work anymore and rest as much as possible cause my blood pressure is going higher even on my med increased. Hopefully the next one will be closer too, although we should think about carpooling sometime too. I've never talked to Karen Margolis but I think she lives in RSM which is right outside the gates from where I live in Coto, so that would be fun for all of us to go together....or even those of us that are local meet for coffee and do a mini-get-together

Oh, shoot! I forgot to reply to that e-mail! No. I am going to be skiing/vacationing in Whistler, Canada, so I'm going to have to miss this outing in Pasadena. I love Pasadena. If you're into paper products/cards, custom-made invitations, check out mimio. http://www.mimiopapers.com/
They did my wedding invitations! LOVE this place! Cute cards n' stuff too.

I'm fostering another Boxer, too, so my schedule is a bit hectic right now. Murphy had eye surgery, Dozer (the foster child) is adjusting into a routine here, and Maggie seems to have put her "diva-ness" on the shelf for now to help me out! haha

I've been on a case that's about to end, so once I return from Canada, I'm hoping things get back to norm. Towards the end here, the transcripts have been due by 3pm the same day, so it's been great work, no jobs pending at the end of the day, but I'm looking forward to back-to-norm stuff -- the stress has been a bit much! Chat soon! Thanks for checking in, Kyung!

We start at 8 or 9 in the morning, finish by 11:30 or noonish. It's about 100 pages. I send the first sessions during the morning break so the job can be scoped while I'm still in depo. As soon as the depo ends, I e-mail the last part for scoping. By the time I drive home, the first part is in my inbox, waiting to be proofread. By 2pm I get the second half, read it, turn it in. The agency produces the transcript and messengers it to the law firm. Tah-DAH!!
  • Audrey Ricks

They're depos. Not a bad gig, huh? They settled yesterday, so .. no mas!
  • Vicki

We are in the process of finalizing our seminars and fees, so will keep you posted! Thank you for your inquiry.

If I was to go to captioning, I was looking at Caption Colorado. They let you work from your home. I would have to buy some new equipment - tv monitors and some other things captioners use, but I don't know. I like the idea of being able to get out of the house. It was really a thought, but I like reporting so much, I'm not sure I want to stop completely.

I've never heard of Ameline, but if it's related to Booker and Hicks, it must have something to do with sentencing. Actually, you italicize case names. I always thought it was underlining but some reporters on the NCRA forum said that it's italicize. I've since then corrected my practice to italicizing case names.
  • Christine C. Gordon

I haven't been to one of Marlas' get togethers, but your name sounds familiar. Anyway, thanks for the nice welcome. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
  • Brenda Rogers

So did you make your own Elf dance with your daughter? There are four dances to choose from. *wheedle*wheedle* :)
  • Brenda Rogers

    "My husband thinks I'm nuts."
Isn't that what husbands do best?

You "elf" well -- very cute. :D
  • Jennifer

    Hey Kyung

You are the only one talking to me. How come???? I know you're stalking me. STAY AWAY :) How was the Pasadena get-together? I was trying to make it but needed to get some pages done. I hope to make the next one. Plus I have this evidentiary hearing transcript that I'm trying to get out. I feel like I'm in the middle of the ocean without a boat trying to figure out what to do. Has work picked up any?
  • Anthony D. Frisolone

Hey, Kyung. I totally forgot on the salsa recipe. I'll do it tonight when I get home from work. I promise.
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

    Hello Kyung,
No, i am not a scopist.. i have myself set up as a scopist so i can screen the job offers that are sent out :)
I am going to share last years analytics activity with everyone tonight.
what pages were visited... search engine results.. etc.
    its interesting to read.
too bad we dont have anything more exciting to do... maybe next year :)
    thanks!
  • Christine C. Gordon

Hi, Kyung. Good to see you the other day. I had an expert witness who was a professor and an expert in the stock exchange and commodities and the SEC, etc. Very long and boring and kinda hard. Hope you had a good one!
  • Dana Serrano

Hey! It snowed the other day actually. Right now I'm really sick... have an upper respiratory infection. Other than that, things are good. How are things over there? Excited about your lights! I haven't decided whether I'm going to decorate for Xmas or not. It means going into storage and going thru to find all the stuff. Not sure I'm up for that right now.
  • Stephanie Leslie

Thanks! Yah... remember when I had that "bug" that was going around where I was up all night & was trying to get your help in covering a job the next morning? I found out 3 days later. Hehe. I haven't been sick since (thank God!), so I really think it was a bug, but it was probably a combo. of the two! Hehe. Yeah, I'm about 15 weeks, so we're really excited. :-)

BTW, those pics of your daughter are super cute!!
  • Dana Serrano

It wasn't that much snow... just a small blanket. Nothing that the kids would get stuck at home and can't go to school. :) I'm sure that disappointed all the kids. It was pretty though.
I will probably do some some lights or something. Can't do nothing. Said in the news the other day we might be getting ice. Not happy about that one. Snow I can live with, ice is horrible!! Need to get to Wal-Mart and get salt.
Your daughter has gotten so big... how old is she now? I remember you sending me her baby pic.
  • Jena Macato

Hi. The elf card is sooo cute. It put a smile on my face, I just had my first hard week :{ . But I've been working at my pace.

    Happy Holidays!
  • Audrey Ricks

Hello again! Just playing around with my profile -- finally added some photos from our trip to Whistler. I've been staying pretty busy. I'm waiting for things to quiet down, but of course I am on a lot of days and no time for Christmas shopping! I'm sure it will die off after the 19th, or at least I hope it does. Are you ready for the holidays?
  • Mary Motley O'Brien

Thanks =) We weren't sure what was going to happen yesterday. She had gone from head down last Thursday to transverse on Monday and my OB wanted to do a C-Section and I was like NO, we want to wait and see if she turns. I wasn't scheduled to be induced until this coming Sunday at midnight, the 15th, so we went home, my hubby kept talking to Olivia telling her to get her head down, I'm on bed rest so bored out of my mind, then we go to the specialist yesterday thinking if she is still transverse and my blood pressure is still really high, we're going on for a C-Section. Well, what do you know, the little squirt listened to her papa and put her head back down, so even though we wanted to still go and be induced right then and there, he said to go home and continue bed rest and go as planned on Sunday night. Soooo that's the plan =)
  • Mary Motley O'Brien

She is pretty small though. A week ago yesterday, she only weighed 5 pounds 1 ounce, so she's going to definitely be under 6 pounds but I have so much amniotic fluid, I feel like she weighs 10!!!!
Hey, how did you get the elfs on your page? I want to do that with ours!
  • Mary Motley O'Brien

I just tried that. Where it says "embedded" so I copied it and when I pasted it on here, it just has all the code letters but not the elfs. I'll try it again right now and check it out in a few and see if you see what I mean (watch, now it will work.) Let me know.
  • Mary Motley O'Brien

Okay okay. Got it to work =)
  • Dana Serrano

They sure do grow up fast. My nephews are 9 and one will turn 12 in Feb. A friend of mine that I've known my entire life and is the same age as me, her daughter just left for college this past fall. I remember her as a baby!! Also, her other daughter is 12 and is taller than I am. I know that's not hard to do... but still! Thinking of moving back to CA this summer. I love living here, but there's not much you can do with your career here, if you know what I mean.
  • Audrey Ricks

Shoot! Did you get the blue screen of death? Hopefully you had everything backed up. It's a pain to just reload all your programs. Sorry to hear you're going through that. Let me know if there's anything I can help with.
  • Dana Serrano

Yeah, it's pretty amazing to see them grown up and off to college. I'm just glad that she's got her head on straight. I sure didn't when I was her age.

And yes, if I come back it would be fun to get together. I'll keep you posted.
  • Dana Serrano

Well, that was just mean!!! LOL :)
  • Anthony D. Frisolone

Thanks, Kyung. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

All the best to you and your family.
  • Dana Serrano

Glad to hear it... that's why we hung out together!!! :) You're mean like me. :) LOL!!!!
  • Andrea M. Ignacio

Thank you. By the way, you are a hooot! That's a compliment. I was reading whoat you wrote about court reporters who want to be mommies. I too have pumped in many garages, but in downtown S.F. Gotta love this career!!!!
  • Andrea M. Ignacio

Just got done looking at your site as well. Your children are cute too! Love the elf dance. Watched it with my little one in my lap and she danced to it. ;o) Happy Holidays to you and your family.

    Q. How do you like Federal Court?????
  • Cari L. Waters-Drewry

It's a little better. Maybe two days a week, but at least it's something.
  • Cari L. Waters-Drewry

Glad to hear that. Great pictures of the fam, by the way:)
  • Cari L. Waters-Drewry

Haven't had any of those yet, and I'm surprised because I feel like I live in the heart of foreclosure land. I'm sure they will start soon, though.
  • Cari L. Waters-Drewry

    Thanks. I will check it out. I don't think I'm a member.
  • Audrey Ricks

Yes, I have been using Pandora -- a LOT! I plugged in a few of my favorite artists, and I get that similar "genre" of whomever I selected. I love it! I noticed it plays somewhat of the same songs after recycling, but it could be that they program it that way. (?) Love it!
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

    Hello Kyung,
point?? do you mean the point in the ranking system?
if so, that should be instant!

I am not a vampire yet, I went back to work as a videographer so now I wake up with you humans :P
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

It really is... I love cali so much.
Its been cold here for like 2 weeks now... I cant wait for the warm weather to come back already.
  • Marla Sharp

So you think Will Ferrell and I have similar hair. Nice, Kyung. Very nice. I think you look like a witch in your photo. So there! ;)

Speaking of witch -- I mean which, when are you going to change your photo?!
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

Thank you very much for your generous donation to us.
    we appreciate it very much.

    thanks!
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

Believe me Kyung, that's more the enough and we truly appreciate it financially and more so mentally.
I was at a Christmas party last week with kelli, we were just hanging out when 3 Reporters we have never met before approached us to thank us becaause they got work though our site.
That made us so happy :)
  • Mary Motley O'Brien

    Thanks =)
  • Anthony D. Frisolone

    Congrats on Mega CSR Status!
  • Chris Renegar

Thanks, Kyung. Yep, she finally contacted me yesterday. I meant to let you know but time got away from me. :-)
  • Stephanie Leslie

Hi, Kyung! I'm feeling great. I've been SUPER lucky with my pregnancy so far! It's finally starting to feel real because I'm starting to show a little. Thanks for asking. How have you been? Have you been able to stay busy lately, or has it still been pretty slow everywhere? If I don't talk to you before, have a great Christmas!
  • Brenda Rogers

    Thanks! :)
  • Dana Serrano

That is cold for there. A couple of days ago it was 14 degrees with the windchill making it -4. Then the next day it was 5 degrees... but it's warmed up a lot. It's gone up to 30s and 40s but now it's 68 with a lot of wind... but it's warm so it's not so bad. But the thunderstorms are supposed to be coming in. I've never seen thunderstorms like we've got here. They actually hit houses. And they will light up the sky. They're pretty amazing but scary at the same time. How was your Christmas?
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

    Hello,
Yes, I removed the "reviews" section because many people were posting normal threads and random opinions.
I thought maybe I was overwhelming an already overwhelming site so I removed it.
    Bring it back you think?
  • Dana Serrano

That's good. Glad you had a good time. I went to my friend's house. Just hung out and watched movies and ate turkey. Glad I'm still employed too! :) Got hot plans for New Years Eve? My friend and I were supposed to go out tonight because yesterday was her birthday and tomorrow is mine... but we've decided we're old because we just wanted to stay home. :P We've turned into old party poopers.
