    Hi Corinne,
It's nice to have a face with the name now. I'm glad you decided to join. I think this is a great site. :-)
  • Deborah L. Willoughby

    Hi, Corinne:
Wow! Thanks for the info. I have considered DigitalCat. I've looked at their website many times but there's not a lot of info (that I could find) as far as pricing. I didn't know there was a monthly payment option. I thought it had to be bought outright. I'm going to call them and check that out. I'm not really interested in the student version because it won't allow me to get my transcripts out. I have the student version of Case, but I can't really use it for anything other than practice.

I really don't have a problem learning new software. I'm sort of geeky that way! LOL!

I really, really, really want the Lightspeed writer, but that will definitely have to wait a while.

Thanks again for the info! I'll be calling them next week.
  • Deborah L. Willoughby

I think I'm confused. Are you saying that with the student version there are no limitations? With the student version I have of CC, I'm limited to what I can do. I can't copy, paste, export, save, etc. I can use it for practicing and I can print out my pages, but they have a watermark on them that says "Student Version." And I think I'm limited to 50 pages or something like that. But even if digitalCAT's student version is the full version, it wouldn't do me any good because I'm no longer a student. I completed my theory and started speedbuilding, then I switched to voice and got certified. I doubt they would let me have the student version, even though I'm not a working "steno" reporter. Did that make sense? Thanks again for all the info. And if I do end up getting it, I'm sure I'll be asking for your help!
  • Deborah L. Willoughby

Thanks for putting up with me today! I think I understand now. I am absolutely going to give them a call on Monday. I promise I'll quit bugging you now and let you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
  • Corinne

Is your name pronounced "Cor-een" or "Cor-rin"? Mine is Cor-een. I love to see the name, though. There aren't many of us out there. :)
  • Deborah L. Willoughby

Well, I went ahead and ordered DigitalCAT! I'm hoping it will be here by the end of the week. Yay! I can't wait to get it and start playing around, although I'm so swamped right now I don't know how much playing time I'll actually have. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for me (otherwise, I'll be bugging the crap out of you for help)! LOL! Thanks again for giving me all the info. I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!
  • Deborah L. Willoughby

Yes, I did get it. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of time to play around with it. I got it installed, read the manual, set up my template, and wrote one job on it. Then I got swamped with work so I haven't had a lot of time to devote to it just yet. On top of being swamped, I've also been sick for the last few weeks and that really put a damper on everything. Ughh! I'm hoping to be caught up some next week and have more time to get familiar with it and start using it. From what I've seen so far, I think it's going to work out just fine. Thanks for checking in!
  • Javari Judon

Hi thank you for adding me I look forward to chatting with you about court reporting, I am pretty sure you could be helpful. What speeds have you conquered?
  • Javari Judon

Yes I do it online. Tonight actually is when I have class. Anyway, it was hard. I have some support for my husband, but he is suffering with all the bills, so I am trying to get a job to make ends for the family. I have four children, and a stepdaughter. 11, 87, 6, 3, and 6(my step daughter. I love all of our children and want to make a good living for them including the husband. Sometimes I think my husband supports me because he is gonna win in the long run, he won't have to work sooo hard, and then maybe we can see each other.LOL
  • Kimberly Baltunis

Hi Corinne, I just ordered the scoping version of DigitalCat, can you tell me what kind of training i'm going to need to get going? That sounds vague but I just need a starting point and don't know what to expect once i get my software.
I am nearly finished with theory and really need to start bringing in some income so scoping is my option but now I'll need to do some serious training.

Great slideshow by the way, if I made sp errors it's because I'm watching your family as I tyie, is that snow in Flagstaff?
  • Kimberly Baltunis

Just sent you a message through your site.
    Very nice site.
  • Tonie Thompson

Hi Corinne, Long time no hear. Love the pics. Hope all is well.

    Hello,
Its under the "community" tab. mouse over the tab and you should see it in the bottom.
    thanks!
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

    Oops, its not working.
Let me fix it real quick.
    sorry!
  • Javari Judon

Well, I have four children and all, but I have a very supportive husband that happens to work nights and I work days, so during the day he watches the children and when I get home from work, I get the boys situated when he goes off to work. I feed them, bathe them, read to them, play with them and so on and then 8:00 p.m., I put them to bed and while puttin them to bed I am starting up the program. At 8:30, the class starts and I am ready to go. During the week though, I just study when it is convenient for me, if I am tired I cannot give even my 90 percent ha ha ha! But I try to get on my machine at least four times a week during the summer. We only have one class a week, for an hour. And then we have classes that we can log into that are not mandatory for me, but they help me to get through. I guess the children are the motivation, you know they do not ask to be here and you want to give them the best. What program are you going into?
  • Rhoda Collins

    Corinne,
Yes, I used it from Nov 04-Sept 05 to get me back to speed to finish my last semester at Alfred State online. I had taken off time when I had my DD. I only had one machine class left there, or I probably would have stayed with SS as it is more inexpensive and I LOVE Marc! He is fab! I loved how his program was set up also. His 2hr practice sessions are set up for each minute of those hours. He has a great sense of humor.

Oh, a degree! I would love feedback, lol. I am all book/seminar/self-taught. I want it to be fun for now. Have been doing pics since 1984 when my DS was born. It is a wonderful release to CR, you should get yours out for your days off! You 'ARE' taking 'one' day off a week, right? ;) Don't burn out!! Your boys are adorable!
  • JO ANN KRAMER

Nice to see you as well. How have you been? Hope all is well with you. Keep in touch.

SimplySteno is fabulous. It has everything you need to become a reporter. Do you have any specific questions? Your kids are quite cute!
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

I am still working on fixing the games page.
I am thinking it would be fixed Monday.
    thanks!
  • Anthony Gaglione

Hey sorry it took so long for me to get back to you! I was away... Simply Steno is amazing. I'm sorry that I didn't start right out of theory... I would have been finished right now. I'm going for my 190s so we're kind of at the same speed. Marc is a wonderful instructor and provides a wealth of information/materials to work with. I can unhesitatingly recommend this program and wish you all the best. Let me know what you decide and if I can help in any way with further clarification.
  • Kelli Combs (admin)

Sorry for taking for ever but games is back up!!
it was much harder than i thought :D
  • Natalie Mikolajczak

    Hi Corinne.
I really like the Simplysteno program so far. I started 01/01/08 and it has been good to me so far. I like being able to study at home. It gives me much more time in my day (flexibility too). There are lessons 5 days a week for Mon-Fri, but I tend to do my lessons Sun-Thurs. Feel free to ask me any specific questions.
  • Michael D. Chaney

Hey, Corinne: Please forgive me if I have the wrong person, but your picture looks so familiar. I got you off of my friend Javari's site; and when I saw your picture after coming to your site, I said: wait a minute. I think I know her. I hope I'm not mistaken. didn't I meet you at the CaseCatalyst workshop in Mesa in October? I know I gave you my card. I took one of yours that you put on display on the table in the corner and the teacher praised you for caring enough about your profession to come out and learn more about the system. This has got to be you. You're in Arizona, too; this can't be a coincidence. Well, I've been looking for your card and I seem to have temporarily misplaced it; but that picture is unmistakable. Is this you? Before I go on, let me know, just in case I'm wrong and making a fool of myself. If so, I apologize but if so, I'll have another avenue with which to travel with you. Even if I'm right, I'll still travel that avenue with you. So, hit me back up ASAP, okay? I don't believe I found you if this is all true. And it won't be coincidence either. I'll tell you why later. Peace out. I know if you're the one, you WILL recognize & remember me.
  • Michael D. Chaney

Well, then, since it is you, what took YOU so long to contact me. I know I must have mentioned CSRNation to you. Did you lose my card too? You know I've handed out my card to some people there that weekend and nobody contacted me. I also did the same at the CCRA convention in Vegas, especially to students who I was told were there to meet reporters and they weren't reaching out to them. Then I made it a point to do so and met them and not one got back to me. Well, I guess all I can do is offer, huh? Okay, I'll probably get back to you tomorrow because I have some work to do and then take my wife out to see the play THE COLOR PURPLE tonight which she has been dying to see. I hate plays, but I love to see a happy woman. Until then, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'll have a restful night's sleep. Here's to our friendship!
  • Michael D. Chaney

    Dear Corinne:
Well, how busy are you? Think you can handle work from me? I checked out one scopist near where I live. I think I may need two. Send me your rates and offer me what you can do for me, okay? My e-mail address is DrChaneyMD@yahoo.com
