Hi, Jane! I'm a court reporting student but I currently work as a Trial Court Administrative Assistant to a judge in Roswell, New Mexico and also have my electronic monitoring certificate -- actually, though, I noticed you were from Odessa -- I graduated from Hobbs High School and was married and lived there for several years -- Odessa is old stompin grounds (I guess you can guess why I was over there a lot when I was 18!) At any rate - just wanted to say HI. (And no, 27 years isn't too bad - I've been a paralegal for 30+ years - now THAT hurts). Have a great week! Jeannie

Hi, Jane! No, I DON'T remember the words to our alma mater! (and I was in Choir)! I didn't graduate from Hobbs High, my last year was 1977, and I went to California and finished with homeschooling in December 1977 (then I wound up back in Hobbs - worked part-time medical/part-time legal)-- I wasn't sure from your post - did you go to school in Hobbs or have you always been from Odessa? I used to go watchPermian High games -- I had a friend who transferred from Odessa and we would go over an awful lot! How sweet that you married your high school sweetheart!

By the way, are you freelance or official? Oh, and I can only sympathize about your ankle - I had a bad break 8 years ago and spent 6 months in a castboot! Arrgghhh....you can't do anything -- but glad you are over it now! Life is a lot easier, huh?! Thank heaven for parents - mine did the same - although, if I win the lottery, I'm already used to chauffeur! LOL!

Something about flares at night.....I still can't remember, but I did go to the school website and gosh, I saw so many familiar names! We may well have known each other! What was your maiden name and who did you marry? As usual, my legal name was Carolyn Wright, but I still went by Jeannie and I married Michael Cohen in 1985. I also worked for Richard Darnell and CYFD during the 80's - the world is such a really small place, isn't it?
  • Jeannie Wright

Well, I'm not going to worry about that song! I already have theory running through my head at all hours of the day and night! I just finished theory -we are in our last week. And, we tackled some speedbuilding; 80-100 is next semester.

Personally, I love online-with my schedule, I couldn't attend a brick and mortar - and I have kids to raise - so I can still do this after work hours (whenever that is) and be home for them - plus, I'm just geared that way - going out to a college would be just too much for me.

Oh, please do call me if you get to Roswell! I would love to have lunch!

Well, it's on to practice - talk to ya later!
  • Jeannie Wright

    Hey, Jane! What's goin' on?
  • Jeannie Wright

Hi, Jane! Did you get your icebox fixed?! I a similar problem - my icebox is about 25 years old and just WILL NOT DIE and I am too cheap to just replace it! I need an excuse! Your old one needs to die and let the new one take it's place, not the other way around.

How are you? Haven't been on the site much in the last 10 days - was busy getting schoolwork done.

    Holler back!
  • Jeannie Wright

HI, Jane! I'm such a lousy friend - went into a little burn-out situation and just retreated to a cave the last six weeks or so - I kinda have to do that every so often - so sorry I didn't reply.

How's Mom's hip? Doing better? How are you? I hope you are taking good care of yourself -- it's just as hard on the caregiver! I'm still in classes, with new focus, however -- sorry you didn't make it this summer, but maybe you can this winter or in the spring -- if I make it your way, I'll be sure to let you know - I'd love to get together --

Holler back if you get a chance!
  • Jeannie Wright

By the way, I've been meaning to ask you - do you quilt? noticed the quilt in the background of your photo - I just finished one!
  • Jeannie Wright

Woo Hoo! Go MOJO! Those are always good games - and I've stood in line for the tickets too! Enjoy it!

On a more somber note - accept my condolences for the passing of Mom - it is so hard to let go - no matter what the situation - because we always want our mother - I will keep you and yours in my prayers!

Well, I knit too! I've just done a couple of quilts - of all things, the machine quilting flared up my carpal tunnel - not steno - quilting! So, guess I wont' be doing much of that. I used to knit like a maniac! Don't do so much now, the weather is warmer in Roswell in the winter than in Hobbs. The wind doesn't blow here - no need for caps and mittens. Mostly I do embroidery and I'm delving into some bobbin lace - we shall see how that goes.

Have fun at the game! Good to hear from you!

Happy New Year, Jane! I hope you had a good holiday, although I know you missed your mother.

How has work been going? I've been up to my ears in trials - which is nice, but I'm only the clerk, although I did get to do one as the electronic monitor. We were assigned two new murder cases recently, which is unusual and the rotation changes when murders are assigned. We will see about whether they become death penalty cases. The DA may ask for it for one - a felon who was paroled on his first murder, gets out and commits another one (I hate gangs)--so sad. Enough about work!

Do you have any plans coming over this way? Winter has been warm this year - it's been in the '60's. However, I did start a pair of socks for my daughter - her feet are so cold all the time. And, I actually finished a quilt in October! I really should concentrate on school, though! LOL!

Hope all is well with you - be sure to holler back!

    Hello,

I have tried it on my IE7 (i normally use Firefox) and it worked.

Its something with our site since its working on other sites, i just cant think of what it could possibly be.
Let me look further into this, i might have a solution for you.

    sorry.
    thanks

Jane! So good to hear from you! Sorry it's taken me so long - I have had pneumonia for a month- yuck! At any rate....

Congratulations on your daughter's graduation! Oh, that must make you so proud - and, finally, the school bills will eventually be going down instead of racking up, right?! My son graduates from high school in May, then I will be paying for 2 college educations - I'm beyond broke just thinking about that! LOL!

Oooooh,.,,,,,,new grandbaby! What a jooy that must be! I know grandchildren must be the most wonderful thing! What are you knitting? Did you do booties?! I learned to knit when my daughter was born - she had colic and I had to hold her constantly, so I taught myself to knit! Currently, I am knitting a simple Chanel cardigan out of Top of the Lamb cream aran - Oh---have you tried the new Kollage SQUARE knitting needles - you have GOT to get a pair - they are so great and the hand fatigue and wrist fatigue is NIL!

Well, I will let my court administrator know about you - we only have one reporter who is handling all the murders - our other reporter is still struggling with passing her NCRA certification--I don't know what the problem is, but she is really having a time of it -- so I got a list yesterday and it's sort of heavy - so I'll pass your name on!

PLEASE let me know about that new baby and good luck to your family! Take care and say Hi when you get a chance - I know you are busy! It's good to hear from you -- and I may be over that way really soon, so I need to know how to get hold of you, okay? We can do lunch!
