Welcom, Cheryle,
this is a great place for court reporters to
find what they need, and sometimes just
to "hang out."
How do you like Juvenile Dependcy?
Have you been doing it for long?
I did it a couple of times when I was
a floater/pro tem. Now I'm assigned
to a family law court and we do mostly
divorces, and all the other things that
go with divorce, support, custody, DV,
property division, etc.
been doing it 5+ years now,
kathy
Wow!! that's a long time in one type of law. I admire you!!!
And I envy you a life!!! I know what you mean
about transcripts! I do get my fair share and
sometimes I feel I'm over my quota, but it pays
the bills and keeps me out of the bars!
I'm still single - any wonder?
I like being in family law, just like you like
dependency. Now that I've got all the lingo
down, it doesn't make sense to move to
another courtroom and start all over.
Although some day I'd like to take a crack
at civil.
Are you having the same "economy has crashed" issues with work that we are?
The court system has begun a furlough
day, third wednesday of the month.
and now they (our supervisor(s)) are
requiring we be at work at 8 a.m. and
not leave until 5 p.m.
what about you??
thanks for making me your friend, i'm sure
we'll chat soon!!
