    Cynthia,
Thank you for the offer. I will definitely keep you in mind. I just came back to depos after being in court for 10 years. I'm still in the process of getting established. Will let you know if I need your services.

    Thanks again!
  • Kyung

Thank you very much for your nice words. It really makes my day. I just pro tem for the federal courts.

Thank you for the add. Hey, I would love to read more about your reporting experiences. This is really a cool place to hang out while I'm banging pages. Everybody on here knows how hard we work, and it feels good to learn new technologies, format styles, et cetera. I look forward to our forum friendship!

Yes, I made the switch to Eclipse, but I haven't really gotten going on it yet. My son is on it, too, and he's living with us here in Murrieta.

I went to Chaffey from Sept. ''78 to November '80 CSR.

No, Frank Miller was not a teacher of mine, BUT I did learn Herman Miller Theory? Are they related??

    Your grandson is adorable!

Hi, Cynthia!!! Didn't expect a reply from ANYONE so quickly, let alone someone from the Big Easy! Your baby is a cutie!!

Just got back from the USCRA seminar in Key West trying to get my realtime certification. It's tough.

Where are you reporting/scoping, and how the heck did you end up in California?
  • Janet Murphy

    Thanks for welcoming me, Cynthia!

Mr. Fuller?? You mean the best high-speed teacher EVER??????

(He never taught English when I was there, and that actually would surprise the heck out of me. He didn't have the patience for that.)

I never knew he passed away. It actually shocked me to hear he only passed a few years ago, though, as he had a trach way back when. I really loved Mr. Fuller, and he made me feel so loved. What a great (No B.S.) guy!

What years were you at Chaffey??

I no longer write like I used to, but I still think we got an awesome foundation writing-wise, and we were blessed with many wonderful teachers. You're right, we were so prepared for the CSR, and our pass rates proved it.
  • Tami

I just re-read your initial post and see you were a graduate of Miller, not Chaffey. Where was that? Still curious what year that was, too.
  • Tami

I appreciate the history lesson. I'm sure I had known all that at one point, but as I get older, it starts fading. Wish I would have met Mr. Miller. I also think it was a wonderful foundation, and I still think it blows away a few of the theories out these days -- with a few major tweaks. :)

What realtime certification did you get in 1986??

I didn't even go on computer until 1987. I've never heard about realtime testing that early on. I think I passed the CRR in 1997, and I thought it had only been around for a couple years then.

See, I do like history lessons. :)

Hi. I actually attempted to post the need for a reporter in Richardson Texas tomorrow morning, 10/15/09, at 9:30, but I am new to this website and failed to send the message to ALL. For those who don' t know where Richardson is located, it is within Dallas County, Texas. I can be reached also at 972-596-7363 if you are interested.

Thanks, Cynthia! Found this board while surfing around for steno-related info last week and it's such a great resource! I'm already in my first month of school, enrolled for a 2 1/2 year (hopefully) stint in court reporting. I've learned a lot, and sometimes it can be overwhelming, but know I can do it. (Also hope to be active here as well, when time allows. Back to practicing...)

    Thanks, Cynthia!
Always great to make new friends! (After initial awful shyness, may I add!!) I've read in your comments about your past experience and I'm so impressed. It must feel good, though, to scale back some and enjoy your grandson more!
Must get off the forum and get to work on the bday depo received late last night!! ;-)
    Good day to you, too!

You bet, Cynthia! I feel so badly for getting you mixed up with such nonsense. But the silver lining is you made two new friends! We are both impressed and happy to have met you..... and your grandson is so cute I could eat him up!
  • Leslie Castro

That is great to know that you scope. I'm trying to get my nerve up and use a scopist. Let me know what your rates are, please, with and without audio.
    Many thanks.
    P.S. Your grandson is adorable.
  • Angelia Bell

Cynthia so nice to meet you!! (Even if online)! Thank you for your words of encouragement...it really boosts my spirits!! :-)
  • La Toya Youngblood

Thank you, Cynthia, and thanks for the invite! Your grandson is adorable! I hope to be as accomplished as you one day.
  • Heidi Bloemker

Thank you, Cynthia. That little cutie is my son, Jack. At that time he was three, and now he is a giant six-year-old. I'm sure he'll be taller than I by the time he hits eight. Your grandson is adorable. Is he your one and only grandchild?
