Hi, Janiece. I didn't want to clutter up that group with chatter, so I will respond to your writer question here. I don't know if you saw the photo I posted in my discussion about the writer, but my sales guy said he would talk to their development team and see if they could make me a double-wide asterisk. I said that would just make the key wider to the left, which would not resolve the issue. He said he's looking into if they could make it double-wide to the right and not interfere with other stuff. I suggested the put the wide -DZ keys as my -FR keys, but he didn't say anything about that. He said he'll contact me when he finds out. I'm still waiting to hear back from them. In the meantime, the loaner is still sitting in its box. I can't use it anyway; it doesn't have keypads! :(
Me too. I just have to really make a conscious effort to try to hit the asterisk key, and that's a royal pain, because when the testimony is fast, well, I just misstroked. Other than this issue, the writer is great. I love the light touch, and I can write all day and pretty much not tire at all.
This is so foreign to me, so forgive me if I look crazy on this site. Hopefully I'll figure it out quickly. I like it, though. I left a question yesterday, and got some responses. I left one today, so I'll see what happens. But as far as forums, groups, blogs, that's confusing to me still.
Hey, Janiece, like I said, I'm sitll confused about this site, so I'm trying to visit it once a day when I have the time. I looked under "Chat" and saw that Kelly Combs made a mention of the court reporting site closing after the first of the year. Do you know what she means? I really enjoy posting questions and seeing the repsonses to them. Let me know what you know.
It was actually the note file that I wanted to convert. I haven't had to do it yet, but I think I know how to now, thanks to Janet and Jo Ann, which might come in handy some day. Better yet, I won't have to do it at all. I managed to get my computer fixed. Thanks!
Janiece, you know what I like most about this Samsung computer? It is so quiet. I can't even tell that it's even on. My Toshiba, the fan is super loud.
I don't really need to because after the job, I put the transcript/audio on a thumb drive and then transfer it to a computer on my desk. The audio is fine there and I don't have a problem. I just don't think the speakers are the best but since I don't edit from that computer, it doesn't really matter.
I'm so happy for you. I have been thinking about you lately. With people complaining about work, I was wondering how you're doing. Good for you. You go, girl!!
I took a job for them last Friday. I knew ahead of time I'm not going to get paid for two months. That's just how they operate. My best friend works for them all the time and they pay very, very well. To me, it's worth waiting two months to get paid. You just need to know that going in, which I did.
Hi Janiece, yes probably to the Dana B. topic, although it always makes my skin crawl every time I hear her name. Moving along to happier topics, I don't do scoping but am seriously thinking maybe I should b/c of this "no work" situation happening around here. I have no clue what the scoping involves. Is it something I can do from my Case Catalyst software I use for myself or do you have to have separate "scoping" software?

Come join the Magnum Steno Fan Club here on CSRnation. Mark himself joined, so we're feeling pretty special.

it's a program that is "sponsored" by NCRA. I think you can get a "test drive" to try it out.

Hey, Janiece
Thought I would send you a message from the site so you could see there is not a problem this morning. Maybe on your end.

I am very happy to be home. The vacation was a tad too long. Two weeks would have been better I think.
