    Thanks, Janet! :)
That cow kitty is from the LOLcat app I added. It's supposed to change every day, but hasn't for a month. I should probably just delete it instead of hoping it fixes itself.
  • Brenda Rogers

lol Not such a bad thing! :)

Thanks for the friend add-on. I love this forum. I have met so many WONDERFUL people and kindred souls. I enjoy networking with others in the industry. I especially like the punctuation and word discussions. Sometimes it is good to know how others handle situations that come up in the transcript.

BTW, your children are absolutely beautiful. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as they say! ;)

Hi Janet. I was wondering if you couldhelp me out a little bit. Whenever i hear the words precinct, disease, diagnosis and diagnose, i freeze. Would you happen to have any briefs for these words? Thanks a million.

I won't be going to the D.C. conference, but I have some friends who are going. The place where they are having it is very new, and so it should be nice accommodations.

If you get a chance to do some sightseeing, there are some very cool museums and places to go. Also, if you contact your Senator and/or Representative in advance, they may be able to arrange a special tour of the U.S. Capitol for you.

Enjoy the conference, and I hope you get some time to get out and do a little sightseeing.

I am glad you like it.
I actually think this should raise the forum participation.

"music and me", a song he recorded 42 years ago truly explains how both music and him were best of friends till his passing.

    Janet,

Thanks for being such a friend today. You surely helped me make some semblance out of my b'd! Remember, no more zero b'ds or five b'ds. They're long gone! :-)

I'm so glad those settings helped you out! I just sold my LS, and it makes me happy if all those billions of hours I spent are at least helping others even though I'm not using it anymore!

Your page is so refreshing. I could dive right in! Yesterday it was 95 here, which is high for us. We're weaklings and complain when it gets over 85!

Today I'm working on my RT macros - kind of instead of finishing up a few jobs. I have another difficult video depo scheduled for the 23rd. I want to get my ducks in a row before then. Hope work is going well for you!
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Janet, It was my thumbs - nothing to do with the tran! Here's a paste of what I told someone:

The LS aggravated a really, really old problem with both my thumbs. It came on me slowly so I didn't know it was happening for months! You know how the LS keyboard is flat so the thumbs are on the same level, and I'm thinking that got to me. When I had to use it again after a few months of it sitting there, both thumbs, which were healing up nicely, were swollen and painful after an hour and a half WC depo! Nobody else has complained about thumb issues, so I'm assuming it's just me

Janet, I'm pretty happy with the Grand, but nothing beat the easy totability of the LS!

Thank you so much for the b-day wishes!! I enjoy your page... it's very calming!

Hi Janet, Where can i buy the thick rubber keypads for my machine?

    Thanks

Thanks for the congrats! And yeah, I totally feel that way about stenograph. When I was in theory I witnessed them sell four of my friends new 400SRTs all within 1-3 weeks of coming out with the new student machine. They didn't say anything about it coming out, and when my friends called to complain they told them they could use their $1000 upgrade. I vowed then I would never buy a stenograph.. and stuck to it. Love my Grand.
  • Dale

Thanks Janet, loved the balloons! What a surprise! And, oh yeah, love your happy, vibrant SMILE! They say the best thing to wear is a smile, and yours ROCKS!
    God bless you!

So far, so good, Janet. No mouse sightings. Maybe the Riddex thingie that you plug in the wall is helping.

At night, though, if I have to get up, I now will turn all the lights on, just in case I see something scamper across the room. ;-)

Poor little mousie. I love critters, just not mouse critters in my house. Hopefully, he will find a new home.
  • Kwanna Collins

Hi Janet.. Thanks for informing me about the keypads. I will order them from pengad since i have an account with them already.

    Keep in touch
  • Tami

    Thank you, Janet!

BOIT, love the colors on your page!

    Yes, some are from Maui.

We have four boys and a tomboy -- even though she doesn't look like a tomboy, that girl has ball skills.

The pirate ship is in the backyard. My husband went a little crazy with a supposed simple project in the backyard, but it is so much fun.

He's like me in a lot of ways. He really puts his heart into things, and he loves his boys, so he wanted to give them something where they'd want to spend time at home. It's worked, too.

Clay turned up his nose to being a CR for quite a while, and then just decided over night that's what he wanted to do, and the rest is history. I'm hoping for more, but I'm not sure I'll get any.

My first question to any new girls that come around, "So how do you feel about being a court reporter??" HA!!!!
  • Tami

    DEAL!!

Do you know how hard it is to qualify in all three legs of the NCRA speed contest in one sitting???

Maybe you do, but, if not . . .

I have qualified in all three, just not all at the same time. You see, they usually have two decent tests, and then the third test -- it changes legs from year to year -- cuts the wheat from the shaft.

I think there were only three contestants that did it this past summer and only two in Texas the year before. I don't remember it being that difficult in the previous years that I've been interested in it -- the first year I competed was in 2000 -- but that really seemed obvious the past two.

So let's psyche ourselves up and do it next year!!

I honestly think Kathryn has a shot at it. She's been so diligent, and that girl is plain determined. I think she's going to kill it.

It is so much fun competing. I honestly go in praying for a single pass, and you'd think I won the thing when my name gets announced -- no matter if it's in the basement.

Everyone is so nice, and I have to tell you I just crack myself up. I am the absolute worst test taker out there. I do everything wrong, but I've been lucky a couple times, and that's just icing on the cake.
  • Tami

Well, I wish I had the body of one of those "Deal or No Deal" cuties, but . . .

    It's a DOUBLE DEAL!!!

So where is it next summer?? I need to plan my wardrobe. :)
  • Tami

    I'd love six-pack abs, so maybe I'll shoot for a one-pack. :)

No, I'm not going to D.C. So sad about it, but I'm planning on being there next year. Thanks for the push!!
  • Depo Dynamics, LLC

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Janet. At 43, I still love birthdays! I think I'll celebrate the whole week. Luckily my husband spoils me and lets me get away with it.
  • Dale

Janet, you're soooo cool,,, I loved the balloons, but your smile on the page LIT UP my day! Love to get mail and type as fast as my fingers will allow,,,,,energy left over from playing my guitar for an hour or two,,,
take care and God bless you Janet!

  • Erica Abbott

That's too bad to hear! You know, I remember on one of Mark K.'s videos he said that he was thinking about putting pads on the LS so it did build up the keys except leaving the vowel keys with only one layer of pads. I don't know if that will help you, but it might be worth a try. Are you a pounder, too? It seems like that might be a problem for some of us. If not, maybe the only writer that would actually work is the Gemini. I know that people who have that love it, too!

How long have you had yours? I am interested in all of this, seems how I have been just waiting for the ones with the new key overlay to get here. I really don't have the money to just spend, so I would have to sell my A3 very soon after I got the LS. But I don't want to be stuck with pain -- Well, any more than I already have, that is.

    Janet,

Thanks for the music! It made my day. I think you're right; we should all be dancing and let the negative go away.

    Be well, Tricia
  • Tricia McLaughlin

I surely hope the miracle is, Janet. My DSL is still down. I'm trying to work that out with them now, as if Verizon will work anything out. When you get a chance, give me a ring. I have question for you.
    Be well, my friend, Tricia
  • Tricia McLaughlin

The miracle is now starting. I need more info about MJ.
  • Tami

How are your six-pack abs coming??

My one pack is somewhere. I just can't see it yet. :)
  • Tami

    Did you say Dairy Queen??

Blizzards -- oh how I love 'em!!!

I made up a great brief series for all the fast-food joints.

    Dairy Queen is D*K
    Burger King B*K
    Kentucky Fried Chicken K-FK
    Del Taco D*T
    McDonald's M*KDZ
(You get the gist, I'm sure. :)

My kids are all back in school. They start early here. We already had Back-to-School nights. When my husband was in Alaska last week I had to do my two high-schoolers by myself. I let my boys figure out which class I went to because I obviously couldn't be in two places at once.

Fighting a bug this weekend and had to go all day with five-minute breaks twice today. Not enough for this old body of mine, and since I've been not feeling well, I haven't been working out (the whole weekend) and that makes me feel even worse.

I'm picking myself up from the collar and getting out of here. Tomorrow will be easier, I'm sure!!

Hope you're off to a better start of the week than me!!

So exciting getting one off to college. Where is he going??
  • Dale

    Hi Janet:
Hey, I was reading your comments, where you mentioned that you met M. Gorbachev....what a HOOT!,,, Tell me more about it, I love international intrigue!
    thanks and God bless

  • Tami

    Taco Bell T*B

    Yes, we have those too.

I knew you didn't have Del Taco back there because my daughter moved back to MD and now she's in Key West, and she has withdrawals for Del Taco -- loves their mild sauce -- and our hamburger joint out here, In-N-Out, which is the BOMB!!

    I don't do hamburgers, but I do In-N-Out. NO*UT

Sounds so fun having your son so close, yet far enough away. My senior in H.S. this year, son, will be going away next year. Not sure where yet. While he's my brilliant child, he didn't get the grades he should have his first two years. They were good, but not up to his mental capacity.

He just scored a 5 on his AP Chem test and never did the homework. His teacher said that just doesn't happen. The teacher went back into his grades last year and raised his Bs to As because of the high score, so that helps. He's finally figured out he wants to commit to his future, is taking five AP classes compared to two last year, but probably is too late to land one of the schools he really wants in.

Anyway, it's exciting seeing our kids get on with life, isn't it!

No, I don't work out every day. I've been trying to get in four days a week since my shoulder, and before that it was zero. Once I clear this bug completely -- and the fires are crazy here right now -- I'll get back at it.

Hope you're having a good Wednesday, Janet!
  • Tricia McLaughlin

    Janet,
I agree. Andy Williams is the only one that can sing The Impossible Dream the way it should be sung. Here's to Teddy!
Have a great weekend in NH!

    Janet,
No fair. I'm too tired to think this out, but now, I'm going to have to figure out a way to load your page and mine so I can listen to the music. Great choices!
It's like the Battle of the Bands. LOL

More songs??? LOL It's addictive, isn't it???? We both seem to have the same taste in music. I love the new ones.

Thanks, Janet. So were you the J.M. from Anytown?

    Hi Janet,

Let me know if the e-mail I sent doesn't show up.

  • Kathy DiLorenzo

Hey, woman, how are you? :-)
  • Tami

I have so many good friends on Eclipse. I have a wealth of resource to pull me through.

This old dog can do it!!

I'm still working out. I'm down ten pounds. The best part is I feel so good -- physically and mentally.

Still can't hide the fact that I've had five kids. Need to start crunching more and cross-training less. :)
  • Tami

I can't wait for realtime macros. That's one of the biggest reasons I've finally made the jump, which I've wanted to do for so long now.

    I'll be picking your brain!!
  • Kathy DiLorenzo

Hey, Janet! All is well here. Enjoying my post-NCRA life and not living my life in an airplane -- love my new job! So glad to hear that you're busy!!! I hope this CR rut is nearing an end for all.
  • Lamb Lamb

Thank you for the kind words! :)

    Janet --

Nope, that's not me! I'm just not that flexible!

Thanks Janet! Yes Sable is very special. Most of those pictures were taken by my daughter. She has a special eye with the camera, even at 14! My speed varies. If I know the material I'm working at about 150. But new stuff is much slower. I'm trying to reinforce my theory and then pick up the speed again. 30 years is very impressive. I'm hoping to really start picking up speed after I finish the academics. It's great to get to know you. Don't know too many people with this last name! LOL
  • Tricia McLaughlin

    Janet,
I love the new song. Life does seem like a long and windy road at times - some good and some not so good.
Thanks for being such a good friend!
  • Vicki McHugh

Isn't it funny Janet? I get a lot of "McHuff!" LOL How they get that I don't know! What is so difficult of Hugh with a Mc in front of it? LOL Or if I say the name I get McCue. I never realized it would be such a tough name for most people! LOL Is your husband Irish? My f-i-l was Irish.
