Can I ask you a captioning question? I'm a court reporting student in California. I'm at 160/180 wpm currently. I eventually want to be a broadcast captioner working from home. It's my understanding that you don't necessarily have to have a CSR or RPR behind your last name (certifications, I mean) to work as a broadcast captioner; you just gotta be able to actually write accurately at those high speeds! Is that true?
I want to eventually get my CSR of course, but my goal right now is to get my RPR, which will then qualify me to get the CSR a bit later. I just want to be able to work already! Once I reach those broadcast captioner speeds that is!
Your input would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance for your time! :)
