Debbie, we must have been there at the same time, though. It took me for-freakin-ever to finish. I was in the group that Cody gave the whole 200 class a pass to take the test, since he was closing down the school. Here in the South Bay, the Pig Reporter alums I can name off are Jann Nichols, Lynn Menacho (ret.), Chris McGinty (ret.), Kingsley Boesun....oh, gosh, who else? Remember Mrs. Pierce? And I wonder where Tom Clisham is. Last I heard, he never got his CSR but owned a CR firm up in Marin. He had a wicked sense of humor. We all did, out of necessity, or we'd spend all day crying.
I can think of one memorable "lady" who we called P.A. (for Proctalgia, thanks to Tom's Medical Terminology class). Always loud, had a custom-made hand-stitched leather suit, yes, tight tight tight pants and fitted jacket. Used to leave the stall door open in the ladies room. Only one of a cast of characters.

Lori must be related to Pam Sambuck here in the South Bay.

Oh, jeez, work is slow....looking at the message boards...boredom? inspiration? Don't know what made me think of those "fun" old days of trying to master the most unnatural skill I'd ever learned, after 7 years of college at UC.

When our group passed the CSR, 2-3 years later we had a "Pig Reporters Reunion" up in SF. By then, one of us had been so freaked out at having to read her notes against the transcript in Federal Court that she had already quit CR. (Cody always said, off the record of course, that you get a copy of that friggin' transcript and restroke the job to perfectly match that transcript, this just before computers changed all that.)

After 11 years in real estate, I decided to become re-certified. I figured it was a good safety net -- NOT. Hand, neck, back issues have all resurfaced. (Broke my back skiing, had a disk removed from my neck -- you know, nothing serious -- add a little sciatica and a couple of torn rotator cuffs) So I did get my license back and now I am leaving again. So if you know anyone who wants to buy some new equipment at a great discount, call me -- 707-738-0441. Back to real estate -- working the short sales and bank owned properties now, lots of work to do!!!

I have a Stenograph Elan Mira with Audio Sync, purchased new in late 2007, took the test in '08 and did a little work in the beginning of the year. I have CaseCatalyst, Version 10, software. I will pay for the upgrade to Version 10 (costs $1100 to do that). I will include the rolling travel case, exhibit stickers, depo books, et cetera. I would like to get $6500. I think it's a pretty good deal for someone since the equipment is virtually new, they won't have to pay shipping or taxes. Oh, yeah, the software will include a one-year support contract. Thanks for any help you can give. I appreciate it.
