Hi Cindy, I agree, what a great game!  I love my Giants and they had me worried up until the end of the game!!  Can't wait to watch them in the parade down the Canyon of Heros in downtown New York City!!!

    Hi, Cindy

If you post something on your page, it will come up on "latest activity" to the right of the main page.  People will see that there an may look at your page a comment, not sure.  It's super easy once you get the hang of it.  The "latest activity" shows everything that happens on the website, except for if you send a private message, it won't show that, but everything else shows up there.  I hope I answered your question.

    Cindy,

Do you by any chance know any good proofreaders?  I need to utilize one; I'm working myself ragged proofing 2500 pages a month.

  • Kelli Combs (admin)

I would prefer Eclipse, for when I do daily delivery, my scopist can just send the file on to the proofer.  Don't know if I'll be able to do that, though.  I know my options are a lot slimmer when I want it done in Eclipse.  I also want someone who is good.  Just like scopists, 85% of them are sloppy.  I've been reporting for 25 years and am an excellent reporter and have clean transcripts, but I notice sometimes, that means people don't pay close attention for the little stuff like Defendants' instead of Defendant's, singular or plural, just little stuff like that that does still matter.

    Cindy,

My email address is kellikellikay@aol.com.  I could start using ASCII format and maybe giving you a job or two to see how it goes.  I've never used a proofer.  I always use scopists and proof my own, but I need some help.

It's just for daily copy delivery, it's helpful if the proofer has the software to be able to get the file from the scopist directly when she's done.

  • Kelli Combs (admin)

Thank you.  That would be a huge help, as I'm not quite sure who to use.  I could always send out an email blast to the proofer group and see who I come up with, but I was hoping someone could recommend someone.

Thank you. I'm very excited about being a part of the CSRNation.  I am currently a student at Cerritos College, working towards an Associates in Court Reporting/Captioning. I'm in the 60-90wpm speed-building class, so I'm still in the baby stage, so to speak. I'm doing all of my studies online, so I'm a bit on my own. Any advice and information to help in this very challenging journey is greatly appreciated and needed.

  • CRISTAL FIGUEROA

Thank you, Cindy. I also have the diffulty of life trying its best to get in the way. I have four children at home that range from 9-5. So there's always something interfering with my study time. I am also interested in learning about scoping. I do not know a lot about what is required, but would like to be able to earn while I learn.

    Hey, I have a friend!

  • Connie Babcock

    Hi Cindy,

I haven't personally introduced myself to you on SSG, but I definitely follow all of your comments.
I have been kind of the "quiet mouse" in the background just taking in all that I can from so many "pros" on there.  I thought that I could try to expand that by joining this group.

I am currently looking forward to adding another reporter as the one I have decided to use another scopist that charges $1 p/p, and well, I  have been charging $1.25 p/p to her for over a year now. Anyway, I am not whining I just need to expand to new horizons in finding more work.
I am on Eclipse 5, although  I still have the 4.3 to use if a reporter hasn't updated yet.
I look forward to seeing more of your comments as well as all the great information on this site.  Thank you for letting me.

I really don't know if the Babcock's from Colorado are relatives, they certainly could be.   My husband, James, is  from the UP of Michigan, and they are a very LARGE family.

It is crazy, as there is a Babcock family that lives about 40 miles from where we live.  We always joke with each other that we are "long lost cousins." I suppose that we are at some point, right?

Most people don't blog on their own page. Usually you leave a comment for someone else and then the reply back and it goes on your page. I suppose you can post something there too. Yes, everyone will see it in the "Recent Activity" feed.

We don't have a mentoring group, per say. I'd be happy answer any questions he has, as I've been doing this job now for 25 years.  Just today got an adoration from my main firm saying the love working for me and I'm GREAT at my job, which makes everyone's job in the office so much easier.

My email is kellikellikay@aol.com and he can ask me any questions he has.

    Have a good day.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

By the way, I absolutely love Humboldt County!:)

  • Melini A. Carreon

I was raised in Napa County in the country with huge, beautiful redwoods on the property, so I know exactly what you mean.  My mom still owns the property, but she rents it out, so I don't get up there as often as I'd like.  My daughter and her family live in Denver.  In fact, I'm going there next month for my son-in-law's graduation from med school.  They'll be moving to Virginia in June.  He'll be doing his one-year residency in Virginia.  I'm living in Orange County, Southern California, and have been for the last 30 years.  I'm happy to know you're enjoying nature up there in Northern California.  I wish I were living up there myself:)

Thanks for the welcome Cindy, now to figure out how this works compared to fb.  Have a great weekend.
