Hi, Malinda. I came across your page and see that you're in school for voice writing. I also see that you said that you switched from steno to voice. Were you in school for steno or did you work as a reporter and then decide to switch. I am currently a steno reporter, but started reading about steno and decided that I want to learn it, but it's not popular in NY as well as if I decided to, I would have to most likely learn it online or on my own. Can you tell me a little bit about what the learning process is like?
Hey, Malinda. Thanks for the add. I love being a steno reporter, but unless you're almost perfect, you can spend a lot of time in the editing process, and it's hard for me now that I have a little one. I'm hoping to learn voice and get into realtime broadcast captioning. What area are you looking to go into? I spoke to someone at your school and they told me that about half of the court reporters in Georgia are voice writers. I was amazed by that being that I've never even seen one in New York.
