FREE Arby's® BBQ Bacon Cheddar Roastburger™ (until July 12th)

In these tough economic times, it's nice to get something for FREE.

I thought I'd share this coupon with you, which is good until July 12th. I've never had one of these burgers before. In fact, I don't eat fast food very often, but there are some family members of mine who enjoy a nice burger every now and then.

And there's something about it being FREE that just might make it taste that much better. LOL

Here's the coupon link from Arby's:… Continue

FIRM OWNERS-What do you call your "handling or administrative fee"

I have now just spent the better part of 3 weeks attempting to vigorously pursue past due invoices....VERY frustrating. It seems to me it's the few that pay within 30 days and at least 85% of those ordering reporters/copies take over 90 days + to pay.

I am now in the mindset of 'pre - billing' for carrying costs of these attys but am at a loss as to what or how

to describe this other than administrative fee. We already have a p+h fee, of course.

Does anyone else have… Continue

HELP! Need Input Data or Data Input

I have taken on a general transcription assignment, it averages 30 min audio files, with heavy accent and lots of uh huh, hmm, etc. (I already know they don't pay enough), but what would an average length of time be for transcription by the average transcriptionist, let's face it typist?

Done with 200 Q&A!

I found out this morning I passed my last Q&A test at 200. I am so excited to start working at 225 for my class tomorrow! (I need to remember I said that when I come back from class tomorrow after getting my butt kicked!) I really think my interning has helped a great deal, and am glad I have the opportunity to go out once a week to shadow court reporters. It has really bumped my speed up! Woo!

Court reporting accountants?

Just wondering if anyone has experience with using accountants that specialize in court reporters. I've been reporting 18 years in the NYC area and have never used someone who is intimately familiar with the ins and outs of the profession and was curious if I'm letting things slip through the cracks!

Would welcome any feedback/recommendations!

Have a happy 4th.

Machine shopping...need some tips, advice.

Hello Everyone,

I am in the market for a more updated machine than my Stentura 8000LX which I bought in '99. I reported from 2000-2003, then took a five-year break from reporting and just came back a little over a year ago. My 8000LX is in need of servicing but I'd rather invest money in a new machine.

After several days of considering my options, I've narrowed it down to two machines: Elan Miras A3 and the G2. Is there a significant difference between the two other than… Continue

Stacking

What can I say? I'm not sure it's me or the machine anymore. I always thought it was my 8000LX, but now maybe it's me. I don't have a new machine yet, no, hopefully soon, but I had a doozy yesterday I wanted to share.

Q. Do you have a TKHAOEUFP application? TKHAOEUFP = copy of that

Yikes! Triple stacking now. Like a triple cheeseburger, but less fun.

What building were you working? For future reference, there's parking on Temple Street about one or two blocks east of Los Angeles Street. The lot is right across the street from the federal building with the big "bullet hole" statues. There's also another lot on Los Angeles and 2nd St, which is about 2 or 3 blocks south of the L.A. Mall. I used to work in City Hall East; so I know and feel your pain. Continue

Parking aggravation

We started at 9:30 and went to 6:55, which is a very long day for me. Bec. I have to leave my house at 7 a.m. to make it to downtown L.A.

Then I parked in the Los Angeles Mall, which closes at 6 p.m. This is before I found out the attorney was planning on going past 6 p.m. So I had to pre-pay my parking and tape the parking receipt to the inside windshield of my car so they wouldn't tow it. Then after we were done for the day, which if we ended at 6:55, I didn't get packed up for… Continue
