I have been a reporter for 20 years working in the San Diego, CA area. I know how you feel with it being slow with the economic crisis. Right now I am working for five firms just to keep steady. I am looking for a part-time scopist to help with work. I have had a scoper for seven years that is only available on the weekends. I usually take PI, Workers' Comp., expert depos, some hearings. My name is Lorrie. I am a freelance reporter in the S.F. Bay Area. I imagine that it gets a bit slow up in your neck of the woods. It's been really funky down here this calendar year! Really funky!
Anyway, my primary proofreader will be on vacation the week of Oct. 27 (geez, how rude is that?! -- ha-ha!) so I am looking for a backup proofreader. As of this point in time I am scheduled for a job on Friday, 10/24 (no expedited requested as of this time), and two-day expedite jobs on Monday, 10/27, and Tuesday, 10/28.
Are you interested/available? And, if so, what are your rates? And how do you send me the corrections back, by errata sheet or otherwise?

Little do they know we were friends before (I say that because we just got added as friends on this site)! I like reading what other reporters have to say, and this is a good place to do that. You know me, always looking for something to distract me when I should be working!
