What court reporting program are you on? I'm on StenoCat 32. If you have that program, I use the Comments feature to put in the comments. If not, I'd have to do an errata sheet and either scan and e-mail or fax that.
I feel I'm very qualified as a proofreader and also as a scopist. I've been a court reporter since 1999. Before that I worked as a scopist and proofreader from probably another 15 years. Oh, yeah, I do print out the transcript to read it. I don't read it from the screen..
My rates for scoping is:
Normal (5-7 days) $1.00/pg
4-Day $1.15/pg
3-Day $1.30/pg
2-Day $1.50/pg
Next Day $1.75/pg
Same Day $2.00/pg
Add $.15 per page for each:

Interpreter
Lots of typing
My rates for proofing is:
Normal (3-5 days): 35 cents
4-day: 40 cents
2-3 day: 45 cents
same day: 50 cents.
Since I am a reporter also, I would need for you to check with me before sending anything to make sure I am available. Recently I have been able to pick up extra work. Also, I generally have super fast turnaround. Since I'm a reporter, I know I have to stay on top of my work and other's work or else it just doesn't work out.
The best way to contact me is by e-mail, which is marcsr11974@suddenlink.net. I'm usually on here most all the time.
okay. i'll watch it, even though i'm woefully late on producing one of my own transcripts. I just HATE production! HATE, HATE, HATE it. It's too hard to do with little kiddos!
do you have the youtube link?
do you have Yahoo IM? it's so much easier than this method!
I started out working for Ken Combs in the city my first couple of years. I also did local stuff for Compex out of Southern California. After I had my second kid, I took a lot of time off, and I kind of lost my place with them. I'm doing overflow for a bunch of firms now. I hate it! The only local one is West Coast Reporters in San Rafael. I haven't heard too much good stuff about local firms, so I've been scared to call them.
Who do work for?
Oh, I'm not technologically advanced enough to put a picture up! Maybe I'll ask my husband.
Can you relate a bit to my computer station? That's how it looked when I first got Eclipse and was working on my dictionary. That was my new Dell laptop - my first laptop ever! I'm typing on it right now as my HP's wireless broke and it's in the shop (Fry's). And while I didn't eat all the food my mom had laid out for me, I did eat EVERY cookie in that bowl!!!
Lorrie, it's just as I feared - you're working way too hard! No pressure for experimenting with that pesky LS - whenever you get some down time. Does that even exist for a mom of two cuties like yours? Yes, my mom's yard is so pretty - and so are your pictures! Take it easy - Jenny
Hi, Lorrie! I hope your son is well by now, and you haven't been working too hard! I'm still tweaking my LS, but I'm not giving up! Contact me when you get a chance. I see you've left some comments on your page instead of hitting "comment back." I just did it yesterday myself, and I can't delete it as my HP went into the shop today and my old Dell doesn't show the background or the red x! Oh, well, we all do it!
:)
I have a daughter, Sophia, who is 5-1/2, and a son, Cooper, who will be 3 on Sunday. The other girl that you see in the photos with my two blondies is their cousin, Emily.
I agree that this is a great site!
Glad you're my friend!
cause I always chastise her for myspace! It's nice to know she can help navigate around though! Love your Seal song. I think I'll just stay here on your page a minute so I can rock out!
I just wanted to let you know that I have been using the transcriber for my videotaped depositions and it has been working wel.. In fact, on this last job, my realtime froze and stopped writing, but since it was videotaped, I kept writing. I ended up re-translating the notes from the floppy disk and using the videographer's tape backup to produce that part. Thank goodness.
Really?! How interesting! And we're still at it! Have you been busy with work? It's been really funky for me thus far this year. The volume and caliber of work just hasn't been there like I am used to.
Are you a member of the Deposition Reporters Association?
Hope to run into you sometime soon!
:)

Just thought I'd say Hi since I live in Cotati.
What school did you go to? Cute kids!
It's a hazy memory for me.
I hope that you're doing well too! I've been sooo unmotivated lately!
Do you know that we passed the same test in May '94? It was in SF, right? My number is 10560.
Hope you're doing well.

I'm very happy I bought it from you.
Thanks,
