I have heard tale of a firm who is expanding their page layouts after their staff has scoped and proofread the work in an effort to decrease costs and increase profits. Obviously, the staff is being paid on the lower page number, or it wouldn't be an issue in my mind.

I think I know how working reporters would feel about this being done by a firm they worked for, but I was wondering if any scopists out there had experienced this. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
