Does anyone know about this Real Tek audio on the newer laptops, how to adjust the sound?

I can't remember how I did it.  I got his new Samsung 15.6 inch laptop and the sound volume is plenty loud and clear when checking it through the sound recorder, but I haven't put a Catalyst job on it yet.

There is sort of a slight staticky background noise like a bad speaker and wondered if anyone knows anything about how to correct this.

Thanks

Have you tried this:  Go  into the Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Manage Audio Devices, Recording (with your mic plugged in), Properties, Enhancements.  I have Disable All Sound Effects checked.

The Real Tek is for playback.  I think the static noise is coming from recording.  I had that problem with my Toshiba and had to buy a USB mic.  That took care of it.  You can try adjusting the enhancements and levels (the steps above) and see if that helps.
