Hi Everybody!

After almost every depo I'm taking now, I'm being questioned by

either the interpreters or attorneys, asking why I'm not telling them

we're going by Code.  Is everyone going by Code now, or are some still

doing stipulation?  Not sure what is going on, or what to do!

There's no reason people  who have at least some interaction or association with court reporters nowadays should be questioning going by code. The only thing you can really do is stand your ground.

Hello Deana! If you would like to know more information about this movement, why it started and how to handle these questions, please visit the Facebook group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/stopthesocalstip/

There have been standing orders issued recently by judges in Kern County prohibiting the SoCal Stip as well as reinforcing the need to follow the Code to prevent any original transcripts from being altered, destroyed or tampered with. We expect to see this trend spread throughout Southern California soon and it will have an impact on court reporting licenses. Very important information to know!
