I was going over some of my records from about 20 years ago, and I came across a letter sent to me by Patsy Franks.  Patsy sent me a copy of The Court Reporter's Psalm that was published in NSR many years ago at that time.

Court Reporter's Psalm

The Judge is my Master.

He shall not wait.

He maketh me to work without a recess; He turneth on the microphone for my ear's sake.

Yeah, though I report in the seediest of surroundings, I will fear no lawyer, for speed art with me;

Thy gavel and thy staff, they comfort me.

Thou ordereth a transcript from me on the eve of mine vacation;

Thou annoyest my days with toil.

My tray runneth over.

Surely dictation and proofing shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell at the trough of the Court forever.

**** The above psalm is an adaptation of the most famous psalm in the world, the 23rd Psalm.

Court reporters have the very, very  highest respect for their judges.

The above adaptation of the 23rd Psalm is humorous and shouldn't be taken too seriously.  It's all about we all need humor and a good laugh.
