I now have a Stenoram II (reburbished and ready to work). I got old StenoCat software (ten years old) off of e-mail. I know it's old, but the Seller said it should work. Obviously, the ten-year-old key is out of sync with my computer.

Can I go to like Best Buy and get a converter so the StenoCat key fits with the printer and computer? Do I take the computer and have a new port put on it?

I know there are still people using GlobalCat, and I know they must have gotten new computer since having their old key. The Seller assured me the old StenoCat software would work. Should I doubt it? Right now I am just concerned with being able to make a computer transcript, not having the most up-to-date software.

Everybodys help is welcomed.

Hi Mary Jo,

If it is one of the old parallel keys, you can probably get a USB-to-parallel adapter at Best Buy. If not, I found one online. Here is a link:

Let me know if you need any help.
