Can any of you reporters from Florida tell me how I can get paid from JAC(Justice Administrative Commission) This was a depo. I took at the request of a court-appointed attorney from Orlando. She had me fill out a Vendor's Application and submit it to JAC so I could be paid from the state, and also assured me this was for this depo only because I did not want to be listed on the JAC website. The depo was conducted here in Tn. with the two attys. on the phone, the court-appointed and a State Attorney. I took this case for them back in July, billing the appearance fee only at that time because I was told they have to have a court order signed by the judge to get permission to order the transcript. I got an order last month for the transcript and got it out and billed for the transcript last month. I still have not been paid for the appearance fee or the transcript. I billed the transcript 10-13 and the appearance 7-11. I feel like I've been given the royal run-around on this. The whole procedure somehow seems preposterous, if not a little bogus, to me. Any comments and enlightenment on their procedures in Florida would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm surprised no one has given you a response.
Start with the attorney who hired you. You can get he got paid.
Next step, go to the Florida Bar. (www.flabar.org). Look for information regarding how to get paid.
Next step, go to the website for the Justice Administration Commission. Get a contact name. Call everyday.
Next step, send an e-mail to my friend, Charlie Christ, governor of Florida. That always works.
