So I currently live in San Diego and I am entertaining the idea of moving to the San Francisco area, (not for a lack of work here) but I wanted to know what the job market is like in the area and if reporters in the area are able to stay pretty busy. I do mostly depos but I am also a pro tem in court so I have experience doing both, so any insight to what jobs are like in the bay area would be much appreciated!

I don't know of any depo firm or court that's looking for reporters here. I do know a lot of reporters who would like more work. The official reporters have had their days cut. Chances are you'd have to live on a shoestring, though SF can be pretty expensive compared to some places. If you have a lot of savings, you might be ok for a while. You might be better off where you are. Probably the best thing to do is to come here and try it for a few months and see if you can make enough to get by.
