I am a court reporting student. I work as a medical transcriptionist. The company I worked for was taken over by a national company and now I work for them making minimum wage. I NEED A JOB! I have been toying with the idea of branching into legal transcription. I've applied for some secretarial jobs to no avail and I'd like to know what I need to know to do legal transcribing. The only thing I have now is a legal terminology book. I am most concerned with how the documents would be formatted. Is there a book out there I can use to help with that? Anyone who does this job, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am tired of coloring my own hair! I need some money! Thanks in advance.

Thank you Heather. I really appreciate the advice. I do have one more question for you. When approaching reporters and agencies, should I have an official resume or more of a business flyer, for lack of a better word? I've never gone out an solicted work before. I'd like to start off on the right foot with that.
Contact Alisha Henri, rubyreddog@hotmail.com if you are interested in working for a good medical transcription company.
