First, let's start with how do you insert Hidden Text? Well, press Alt+I+H and the Hidden Text dialogue box opens up. Now, you can type whatever you want into the box. This is great for communicating with your scopist or yourself to remind you to get a spelling or to check something.

You can insert exhibit index format symbols to mark items like questions instructed not to answer, questions marked for a ruling, and lines for information requested.

You can create a macro or an Accelewriter to open a Hidden Text dialogue box to insert notes and then close the box.

By the way, what you'll see is a green push pin in your transcript while in edit but you won't see it in the transcript.

Just like the OOPS format symbol you can also print a list of all your hidden text out or open up the Hidden Text dialogue pane for reference.

Go ahead, try it out and enjoy.

I'm really glad you brought this up about Hidden text, as a scopist I like to use it to maybe explain something I think the reporter should know. And it's great when a reporter uses it to give me a little insight into a situation in their file.

A few of the reporters I've worked with weren't familiar with it or never used it before, but after I explained it to them they loved it!

Do you know of a quick way to delete them from the transcript? I have been opening the side panel and deleting them from there, which is fine, but I thought there might be a way I'm not aware of.

Thanks!
Joan, you can also delete hidden text by going through the reveal codes by presssing Shift+Ctril+R and highlighting and deleting them from there. However, if the reporter is not comfortable doing that, then they can open up the Hidden Text dialogue pane and delete it from there which seems easier.

Enjoy!
Thanks! I'm new to CSR Nation and this group, but I really like it already.
