Hi everyone,

Just wondering if everyone is having a hard time like me. I've been trying to sit in with a reporter from a freelance agency for months now and having no luck. Either they have too many interns at the moment, things are too slow right now or they are just not accepting any interns.

I've sat in many times with reporters in court, which is great but I really want to get more experience with depos, especially because chances are that is where I will have to start. If anyone knows of any agencies who are accepting sit ins or any help...please let me know?

Thanks so much.

Hi Allison,
this is matt, and I'm relatively new to the site. I'm a student in Ca and was in an internship program early on in school. This helped me get sit-in assignments w/ freelance reporters and the depos rarely canceled. To many interns at a school should not be an issue. Reporters love students! It may help to let the agency know that your internship hours are a course requirement for going through your speeds (as was my case). Good luck! matt
Where in NY are you trying to intern? Let me know.
Hi Kathleen,

My name is Faith and I'm a student as well. I just finished my last test this week and will be looking to intern. I'm in Ronkonkoma. Are you a current reporter? If so, where do you work?

Faith
Hey there!

Yes, I am a working reporter in NYC though. Are you looking to intern on LI or in NYC? I know that my agency has LI reporters and I can see if they'll let someone sit in with them on LI. Also, it's better if you email me at ktee2146@aol.com. I check my mail more often than on here.

On a personal note, I'm orginially from Kings Park and my sister used to live in Ronkonkoma. I miss the Island so much, but I love the City. I'm thinking of moving back out there, but we'll see.

I'm trying to intern mostly in LI. I do want to work in NYC but it's hard right now to intern there because of money and my regular job. I would sit in in the city if I could work it out. Any help would be much appreciated!

Allison
